I am a swing voter

Posted on 08/12/2004 12:05:29 AM PDT by Lepidopteran

I am a swing voter, neither Republican nor Democrat. I supported President Bush in his response to September 11 and I supported the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. But I like John Kerry's message about the need to do something about the people in this country who have no health insurance. It's a hard choice.

This election won't be fought on social issues. The main plank of this years election is the war on terror. Democrats have promised alot of things for 40 years, and have yet to deliver on that promise. The Democrats are the party of victims and empty promises. It's not a hard choice when you think about it. Bush wants voters to become independent through personal ownership and personal responsibility. John Kerry wants voters to pay their higher share of taxes to fund Liberal social engineering fiascos, while again voters will end up getting their hopes shattered through empty promises.

We have a friend who was in a severe automobile accident. He was treated in the U.K. It was all free! Goody!

He had bits of glass embedded in his joints which caused severe pain EVERY time he moved. He waited 5 months for the free surgery and it was postponed twice. What a deal!

Oh, did I forget to say it was free?

I'm not a troll, honest! I have read all of the replies and I agree with most of them in one way or another. But you all can't ignore the fact that the swing voters will decide this election. So why crucify me for stating the obvious?

Great, another one post wonder. Netiquette requires that you reply to your own thread, but that wasn't in your interest, was it?

I have no health insurance either. Kerry is nothing but hot air, and even then he's lying about the temperature.

Bush (tonight in Phoenix):

"You can't be for patients, doctors, AND trial lawyers! My opponent made his choice, he put John Edwards on his ticket!"

"I support tort reform for medical malpractice suits."

If I were a betting man, I'd wager he/she/it was looking for some leftist propaganda points.

If the election is truly decided by the sort of people who weigh some stumpspeech healthcare boondoggle in the balance equally with destroying people who want to kill us then maybe it's time to consider a Starship Trooper version of citizenship and voting.

In the meantime, they can swing right over to the Kerry bandwagon. I hear that alot of good seats are opening up over there.
