As a Vietnam veteran, I have experienced firsthand the horrors of war. I served two tours of duty, commanding a swift boat in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta as a member of the U.S. Navy. I have witnessed the sacrifices our men and women have made and the courage they have displayed in faithfully serving our country. Every day I carry with me lessons from being in combat that help me to recognize the needs of our nation’s veterans and the problems they confront.
I only hope that my devotion to the veterans of this country reveals itself through my votes on the Senate floor and in the work that I do in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. I have always believed that we have a basic obligation to ensure that our nation's veterans have adequate benefits and the best possible health care to meet their needs. I will continue to fight for the rights that veterans have earned and so rightly deserve.
John Kerry's commitment to soldiers:
I hereby commit to calling soldiers war criminals. I will deny soldiers the gear they need for protection. This will have the effect of reducing enlistments which will make it impossible for me to wage the war on terror as president. My French friends approve of this method of withdrawal without surrender.

YOUR "TWO TOURS OF DUTY IN VIETNAM" COMPRISED OF 4 MONTHS ON A DESTROYER IN THE TONKIN GULF AND 4 MONTHS ON A RIVERBOAT IN THE MEKONG DELTA. YOUR TOTAL "SERVICE TIME" DOES NOT EVEN ADD UP TO ONE TOUR AND I DON'T APPRECIATE YOU ATTEMPTING TO MISLEAD ME THE WAY YOUR DO. IT IS NOT HONEST.
REGARDING YOUR "SERVICE" ITSELF, IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT YOU HAVE MISREPRESENTED YOUR ACTIONS ON THE BATTLEFIELD, AND NOW REFUSE TO RELEASE YOUR SERVICE RECORDS OUT OF FEAR THAT PEOPLE WILL FIND OUT THE TRUTH ABOUT YOUR UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR. I THINK THAT THE MOST DISPICABLE THING THAT YOU HAVE DONE IS THE DISCREDIT THAT YOU IMPOSED ON YOUR FELLOW VETRANS WHEN YOU RETURNED FROM VIETNAM. YOUR ACCUSATIONS AND THE ACTIONS THAT YOU TOOK THAT HARMED VETERANS AND AMERICA IS UNEXCUASEABLE. THE COMMUNISTS APPRECIATE THE HARM THAT YOU DID TO AMERICA SO MUCH THAT THEY HAVE POSTED YOUR PICTURE IN A PLACE OF HONOR IN THEIR COMMUNIST MUSEUM. YOU ARE SCUM FOR WHAT YOU DID THEN, AND YOUR RECENT SENATE VOTES DENYING ARMOR AND AMMUNITION TO OUR TROOPS IN IRAQ PROVE THAT YOU ARE STILL SCUM TODAY.

YOUR ACTIONS OVER YOUR ENTIRE LIFE PROVE THAT YOU CAN NOT BE TRUSTED, AND THERE IS NO WAY THAT I WOULD BEGIN TO BELIEVE WHAT YOU SAY NOW. YOU FLIP FLOP SO MUCH I AM SUPPRISED THAT YOU CAN EVEN FORM A COMPREHENSABLE SENTENSE.
IN CLOSING, I WOULD LIKE TO LET YOU KNOW THAT IT MY DEEPEST HOPE THAT YOU BURN IN HELL FOREVER FOR THE PAIN AND SUFFERING THAT YOU CAUSED VIETNAM VETERANS (NOT TO MENTION THE POW's)BECAUSE OF YOUR DIPLORABLE ACITONS AFTER THE WAR. YOU WERE SCUM THEN AND YOU ARE SCUM NOW.
