Vote for Vernon Robinson ¨C the NRA PVF Endorsed Candidate

FAIRFAX, VA -- In recent radio spots, mailings and on her website, Virginia Foxx incorrectly states she is the National Rifle Association (NRA) endorsed candidate in North Carolina¡¯s 5th District Congressional race. The truth is the NRA PVF has endorsed Vernon Robinson for the 5th District.

Robinson, the son of a Tuskegee Airman and nurse, graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy with a B.S. in Middle Eastern Affairs and the University of Missouri with an M.B.A. Proudly serving his country as a Missile Combat Crew Commander and Intelligence Officer in the Air Force before becoming a business professor at the Winston Salem campus of the University of North Carolina, Robinson supports the right of all law abiding Americans to keep and bear arms. His strong belief in the 2nd Amendment has earned him the endorsement of NRA PVF.

On August 17, Vernon Robinson will face Virginia Foxx in a runoff contest for the Republican nomination in the 5th Congresssional District of North Carolina.

Established in 1871, the National Rifle Association is America¡¯s oldest civil rights and sportsmen's group. Four million members strong, NRA continues its mission to uphold Second Amendment rights and advocates enforcement of existing laws against violent offenders to reduce crime. The Association remains the nation's leader in firearm education and training for law abiding gun owners, law enforcement and the armed services.

5th Congressional Candidate:

Foxx Falsely Claims

Gun Group ¡®Endorsement¡¯

In a recent radio interview and most recently on her web site, US House candidate Virginia Foxx claims she has been endorsed by North Carolina¡¯s most influential state-level gun rights organization, Grass Roots North Carolina.

Foxx¡¯s claims are false:

¡õ GRNC does not ¡°endorse¡± candidates. Instead, the GRNC Political Victory Fund, GRNC¡¯s registered political action committee, makes recommendations for effective gun rights voting strategies.

¡õ GRNC-PVF recommended Vernon Robinson, not Virginia Foxx for Congress in the 5th District. In a mailing of The GRNC Activist to members and supporters, Vernon Robinson earned GRNC¡¯s highest 4-star evaluation and recommendation as a likely leader for gun owners in Congress.

In Foxx¡¯s own words: ¡°The Big Lie¡±

Ironically, the radio spot in which Foxx falsely claims the GRNC endorsement is titled, ¡°The Big Lie,¡± supposedly pointing out lies propagated by Robinson. In reality, the biggest mistruth in the ad seems to be spoken by Foxx herself.

No, but she was vice chair of the Senate Intelligence committee. No, wait, that was John Kerry, or Bob Kerrey. Kerrey, Kerry, at that time they were intechangable. Ribbons, medals....

It gets so confusing with all of these lying liberals running for office with their lies as their cornerstones for running.

The Robinson campaign knew that GRNC does not, in fact, make "endorsements", only "recommendations" and that Robinson had received the four star "recommendation."

That's true. Here's what GRNC said in an e-mail before last month's primary:

GRNC Recommendation: Vernon Robinson (GRNC ****) based on 100% survey score and record on Winston-Salem Board of Aldermen, where he sought to remove city restrictions on concealed handguns. In fairness, Virginia Foxx (****) has a 100% voting record in the NC Senate and Nathan Tabor (****) has aggressively sought the gun vote. While either would probably serve well, Robinson would be most likely to stick his neck out in support of the Second Amendment.

Hello, I spotted this after I had posted an article from the washtimes earlier today. A friendly freeper also provided a link to "The Twilightzone" ad. Things are pretty dull in safely GOP N. Fla. (except for the irritation of a safe seat for Corrine Brown. D-Cootie-ta. Maybe I should think about retiring to NC.

On a personal note, I admire your lung power at the Code Pink Freeps. You go, girl!!

Really? I thought it was in November.
I meant to send Vernon some more money.
I am supporting him from LaLa land as much as I can.
