Speaker Hastert will be a signing his book, Speaker: Lessons From Forty Years of Coaching and Politics at

Lee Booksellers
Edgewood Center
5500 South 56th St.
Corner of 56th and NE HWY 2
Lincoln, NE

Saturday, August 21
11:30 AM to 1:30 PM

Thanks to CFR, the publisher of the Speaker's book, Regnery, cannot be given the mailing lists from the RNC to promote this event. The RNC could sell the lists to Regnery for "fair market value," but then would have to sell the lists to anyone who requested them, including MoveOn.org and the other freaks.

I've posted here, here, and here about these events, and since the crowds are usually small (generally under 200 -- sometimes as small as 50), this would be a good opportunity to meet the Speaker and ask him about taxes (abolish the IRS), CFR (he opposed it, and delayed it as long as he could), or cars (he loves old fire engines).

So if you're not busy tomorrow afternoon, stop by and say "Hi."

Thanks.

Sorry to bother you all, but I'd like to ask for your help in getting the word out about Speaker Hastert's booksigning in Lincoln tomorrow (8-21).

Normally the RNC would send out postcards to everyone on their mailing lists, or the local Republican Party would be asked to contact members, but since CFR is now the law of the land, the party cannot talk to the Speaker, and the Speaker can't talk to them (collusion, you know).

So I've been trying to help out by notifying FReepers (since FReepers are the only ones who understand things like CFR and a flat tax) when the Speaker will be in town.

If you could pass the word around, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks.

I don't see why not.

I'm not sure of the Speaker's position since its not one of my hot-button issues (I'm in central Illinois -- the only immigration we get in this part of the state is from Missouri), but I'm sure he'll give you a straight answer if you ask him.
