TOM HAYDEN: OLD TRAITORS NEVER DIE Dissent must come alive in New York
Newsday, Inc. ^ | August 20,2004 | TOM HAYDEN

Posted on 08/20/2004 11:21:53 PM PDT by Cincinna

Protest, even more than property, is a sacred resource of American society. It begins with radical minorities at the margins, eventually marching into the mainstream, where their views become the majority sentiment. Prophetic minorities instigated the American Revolution, ended slavery, achieved the vote for women, made trade unions possible, and saved our rivers from becoming sewers. Protest by its nature challenges authority. It cannot be managed or commodified without losing its essence. Copyright © 2004, Newsday, Inc.

Welcome to the club.

He wants to live in a time warp and making people of a certain age do so too...which,unlike him, they do NOT want to do.

"Dissent against the hysteria that leads New York's Proudest to throw a hammerlock on Mike Wallace and have the impunity to claim that this 86-year-old man "lunged" at them."

I'd like to know exactly who New York's "Proudest" are. I'm a member of the "Finest" (NYPD), and I'm well acquainted with the "Bravest" (FDNY) and even the "Strongest" (NYC Sanitation). I can't say I've ever heard of the "Proudest", and I doubt the Taxi and Limousine Commission enforcement guys referenced in the Wallace incident refer to themselves as such.

I'll assume the rest of the article is typical leftist nonsense, and my brothers and I look forward to meeting with Mr. Hayden and his friends at the RNC.

"...Protest, even more than property, is a sacred resource of American society."

Notice how this statement leaves out ANARCHY AND BREAKING THE LAWS, VANDELISM, which is what the protests of today are all about. Arrest them all as we cannot afford to have law enforcement side tracked and their guard down! That is what this is all about, and God forbid if anything should happen!

He's convinced we're (the GOP) are setting a trap for the Democrats. That why NYC was chosen because we knew there'd be protests and protests will play right into the hands of the Republicans, persuading middle America to vote for Bush.

I've heard that spin several times today. The thing is, he's absolutely right that the protestors will turn off Middle America. But duh, any of us freepers could have told him that months ago.

I just found a bunch of them here earlier tonight:

Central Committee for Conscientious Objectors

CCCO Board

Staff members are also members of the board.

CCCO Staff

CCCO Sponsors

I've been finding more elsewhere--old names from SDS, the Mobe, the original VVAW, etc. popping up everwhere protesting Iraq.

Norman Mailer wrote a book saying Nixon killed Marilyn Monroe. The Left makes icons out of all lunatics.

Thank you...We'll all just have to sit back and see what happens. There is a lot of turmoil already with the dispute between us and the FDNY and Bloomberg about our contract that expired 2 years ago.

Dawn, Good eye, thanks for tagging that Norman Mailer+his Buffalo's piece in NY-Metro. Interesting that he states, that the Left has no rational arguments and have only anarchy and feelings of oppression as the foundation of their existence. These people are such posers...they will never admit the only thing they want is to make all the laws and have the power to tell everyone else how to live their lives.
Morally they have nothing, but Lies, Lies, Lies, Well they ever admit that their actions were responsible for the 2.5 million Vietnamese the Communist murdered after we left as JfK!!! Hell Awaits these POS.
I did try to not to get upset this early in the morning, but..

Capitol Police heading into NY Monday. They are gearing up for the big week. Anyway, I know someone who witnessed a teen grunge protestor spitting on a window of a bank because it had "Republican" in title. This is what we will have to deal with here.

In the late 70's, I attended a California public utility oversight committee hearing in Sacramento, CA. Tom Hayden was one of the members.

He was sloppily dressed, his hair was unkemp, and he leaned back in his chair with his feet on the table for the entire hearing.

What a disrespectful bum.

"Jerry Rubin became a stockbroker"

And a consummate failure. He was under an ethics cloud, I believe when he was run down by a car in NYC and died.

Useless piece of fecal matter.

Good Ole Tom. Looks like he's finally gonna get his revolution, but I'll bet he didn't quite have this kind of revolution in mind. Whoops! The sixties radicals and their fellow travellers in societal and demographic terms are analagous to a rather large constipational bolus, which needs to be shat in the worst way. Sen. Kerry is thankfully acting as a strong laxative.

Tom Hayden, Jane Fonda and John Kerry were liars about Viet Nam then and now. They were traitors to our men/women who served and to our POW's at that time.
