How can the Prez capitalize on this in the black community? I think that for one thing, he needs to address this in his speech at the GOP Convention Thursday night. The ironies in this story are numerous. The black pastors realize that it is the very attitude that "you should be able to have sex with anyone" that results in the huge numbers of AIDS sufferers.

This article about the position taken by 20 black Bay Area pastors actually mentions "20 pastors", yet they can't even find 1 of the 20 to at least try to fake balancing out the 3 people critical of the pastors? Pathetic.

An assertion almost as popular with Republicans as with Democrats, but still, fifty-five years after Kinsey and the start of Hefner's extended publication of "The Playboy Philosophy", false and lacking in any intellectual or empirical justification.

Who's stopping them? Who's forcing them to sit in the congregation? The unspoken key here is that the people he refers to want to be free of guilt or internal conflict. Pastors, or anyone, who dare challenge their behavior are somehow forcing abstenance? Please.

Unreal - the level of arrogance that this "Doctor" possesses is simply amazing.

After all these years, all the money, all the "fighting AIDS", and all the "raising awareness"campaigns haven't stemmed the tide. You can dump all the money you want at this plague, but unless you CHANGE THE BEHAVIOR OF THE SEXUALLY DEVIANT, you won't really solve anything.

Nobody is making the situation worse other than people like yourself "Dr." Scott who would turn a blind eye and offer encourage the kind of deviant and permissible behavior that leads to the very disease you treat. In essence this man has NO compassion for those afflicted with AIDS if he encourages the very behavior that causes it. Something tells me that while Dr. Scott has no problem telling a fat person they need to change thier eating pattern and exercise(ie behavior) to lose weight, he probably doesn't say a whit to the homosexual about what makes them most susceptible to the AIDS virus compared with teh general community.

By condemning gay marriage and also calling homosexuality a sin, Scott and other AIDS activists said the pastors were losing an opportunity to help control the disease that has hit the county hard.

Hmmm - Aren't pastors supposed to tend the spiritual health of their flock? Evidently this idiot medical doctor doesn't understand that - because denying the sinfulness of homosexuality is an automatic prescription for eternal death.
