If there are any deluded souls out there who still believe George W. Bush is a conservative, I invite them to examine the 2004 Republican Party platform on the issue of amnesty for illegal immigrants.
Bush is for it. That makes him a liberal. Worse, he proclaims that the amnesty is not an amnesty. So he is not only a liberal, but a liar as well.

Some would say you are the opposition....
I'm as conservative as I've always been. I will speak out when the supposedly conservative party proposes and enacts left wing laws, which is what Bush and the GOP COngress has done.
$400 billion budget deficit, with the vast majority of it coming from non-defense discretionary spending.
Some "Conservative" party we have. Incredible.
And, don't speak up about it, because that makes you even more leftist than they are...
You have really lost all of your objectivity haven't you?
The idea in an election year is to GET ELECTED!! Principles be damned, if you arent elected it doesnt matter a damn now does it?
How could you lose sight of that?
You hit the nail on the head, G.
"Principles be damned."
Gotcha.
Nice tag line too...
Are you always this negative or are you just trying to get yourself noticed?
If you want something similar to your extremist Right Wing (hahaha) views to be enacted, the President must be re-elected and the GOP congress must remain in power. Otherwise, things will get worse.
Who is the libertarian candidate? I am sure they would love to have your vote and guess what? Kerry would love you to vote for him as he may get 2-3 thousand votes per State from people like you who are blinded by your principles to not see the bigger picture: that is, the lesser of two evils is President Bush.
Go ahead though. I hope you live in a battleground state too. Cost the republicans. See if I care at all.
Are you referring to those BROWN illegal alien lawbreakers?
Got what?
That's right....you have nothing. The leader of your party is off to left of you as is a majority of the party. speaking out is fine, but you are divisive....John Kerry and John Edwards thank you
Yes, of course, I'm an "extremist" because I oppose all the left wing policies Bush has proposed and enacted.
Nice logic.
Bush made himself divisive when he chose to propose and enact a left wing agenda.
My political views have not changed.
I see you as one and I am a conservative and a Republican myself.....you are losing sight of the bigger goal, and that is to get elected.....
If you forget that, someone one day may lose an election because you didn't agree with everything they did and then you WILL get something a lot worse...
Again, John Kerry and John Edwards thank you for your support.
DO I smell a feeble attempt at divide and conquer?
Granted I may not agree with everything Bush does however John Kerry is a pathological liar that scares me to death if elected. He's a total IDIOT!
Conservatives want it both ways. A surefire way to know if someone is here illegally, especially around a voting booth, but absolutely no national identification to prove it.
Yep. Sure they haven't. Guess what though? For Bush to get re-elected and to defeat the evil that is the 2 Johns, he needed to bend a bit on issues that are not exactly in the consciousness of the country (who cares about illegal immigrants in say Ohio? Or how about having outside observers monitoring the elections in Minnesota?)
These are issues that don't matter at all either way, as in Bush really doesnt have the power to affect either policy. That would be the Congress. However, given the chance, Kerry would make The President look extremely bad on these issues with the help off the Communist Press.
Again, John Kerry and John Edwards thank you for your support of their get rid of Bush campaign. I am glad they have converted you.
I don't believe it's an election item - it's more of a Christian thing - God tells Moses to not persecute aliens because he knows what it's like after being enslaved by Egypt for all that time.
It's not that I simply "do not agree with everything Bush has done."
It's that he's gone far and above the point of simple disagreement on a couple of issues.
He gutted the first amendment, and is now suing those who organize and speak against him. This is highly offensive to me.
If you don't mind he did that, fine. I'm not trying to sway you either way. I'm simply giving you the reasons for my disgust.
If you don't like that, maybe you can lobby for a law that makes it illegal, as an amendment to CFR. I'm sure the Congress and Courts will go for that, as they just did not too long ago.
I expect Mr. Bush is more concerned with WOT than the election. True, we need him in there, but the focus has to be destroying terrorism. And I don't see how that can be accomplished with wide-open borders. There's no way that terrorists aren't taking advantage of that.
It appears as though you believe in rewarding foreigners who violate our laws. I don't agree with you on this, and the majority of Americans don't agree with you on this. By the way, are there any laws that you feel American citizens should be allowed to violate and then be rewarded for doing so?
So what? You are disgusted. Guess what? You will have to live with it either way for the next 4 years. I hope you will notice that Bush will eventually right the ship and keep the taxes low, and keep the terrorists out and continue to tell the Euros to shove it.
But if you don't, I am sure John Kerry/Edwards will thank you for your support.
Come to think of it, I've not heard Kerry say ANYTHING about illegal immigration. Not a peep. If anyone else here on FR has, please let me know. Thank you.
