WEST ALLIS, Wis. - President Bush (news - web sites) on Friday wished Bill Clinton (news - web sites) "best wishes for a swift and speedy recovery."
"He's is in our thoughts and prayers," Bush said at a campaign rally.
Bush's audience of thousands in West Allis, Wis., booed. Bush did nothing to stop them.
Bush offered his wishes while campaigning one day after accepting the presidential nomination at the Republican National Convention in New York. Clinton was hospitalized in New York after complaining of mild chest pain and shortness of breath.
Bush recently praised Clinton when the former president went to the White House for the unveiling of his official portrait. He lauded Clinton for his knowledge, compassion and "the forward-looking spirit that Americans like in a president."
Thanks. I already did. All: Please see post #49 and tell me if my e-mail sounds all right.
They changed their story???? Are you kidding??
The story has been revised to correct the false statement.
Clinton has a HEART?! Must have gotten all gooed-up with all those jaunts down to McDonalds (rmember the Saturday Night Live parodies of this?). PLEASE don't die Bill! That would just put MORE dollars (life insurance, etc.) in Hitlery's coffers for a run in 2008.
I just emailed them and told them what I thought of them.
Amazingly, if there was one boo, it gets reported - but when the Hildabeast is widely bood, they edit the audio...
Yes, they must have changed the story. I went on there as soon as I saw this thread and it said:
"WEST ALLIS, Wis. - President Bush (news - web sites) on Friday offered former President Bill Clinton (news - web sites), who faces heart bypass surgery, "best wishes for a swift and speedy recovery."

***Absolutely no mention of booing.
Just clik on the story link and go to AP link. contact us is on left side of page.
It sounded fine. I have been trying to get this across to freepers for quite awhile now...when you see a blatant lie in the press, do NOT take it sitting down. How do you think the left gets its way all the time? When they see or hear something they don't like, they bombard the person or network with thousands of emails, faxes and phone calls. Here, people just sit and bitch with their keyboards. We have got to fight back and fight back hard. Otherwise, nothing will ever change.
OMG! ROFLMAO!!!
"chimera made me laugh so hard Rebel cried and peed and spat out her Coke....Bush did nothing to stop him."
I'm glad I posted the original article in its entirety before they changed it.
I just listened to the announcement made by President Bush. When hearing of the news, the crowd let out moans...NOT boo's!!!!!! Then, after Bush commented on how Clinton was "in our thoughts and prayers", with "wishes of a quick recovery", the crowd applauded and hooted. It all sounded like a very respectful and supporting response to me and any claim to the contrary is absolute balderdash!
I just heard on Milwaukee radio that the story is being corrected, losers.
Unreal. They put the story out with a lie. They get called on the lie, make a correction, and now they can act as if nothing happened. It's stunning really.
Thank goodness Free Republic has the archived version up at the top of this thread.
Someone forward this thread to Sean Hannity or someone who will not let it go.
Horrific and inexcusable lies. Perhaps the most disgusting thing I've ever read. Bush "did nothing to stop them" because the audience simply didn't boo. They politely applauded, in fact. Sure, there very well may have been one or two morons in the crowd but to attribute their actions to "the audience" is the height of irresponsibility (to put it mildly).
