Peroutka: Remarks of Bush Twins to GOP Convention Foolish, Embarrassing, Dishonorable, Not Funny
Yahoo! News ^ | September 1, 2004

WASHINGTON, Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- The following statement is from Constitution Party Presidential candidate Michael Anthony Peroutka whose running mate is Dr. Chuck Baldwin of Pensacola, Florida:

Is it just me or does anybody else believe that the remarks of the Bush twins at the Republican Convention were foolish, embarrassing, dishonorable to their parents and grandparents, and not funny. Did anybody else cringe and feel sorry for our President and country when Jenna Bush said that Grandma Barbara Bush is "not very hip" because she thinks the TV show "Sex And The City" is "something married people do, but never talk about?"

Jenna Bush's assertion that "Outkast" is a band and "not a bunch of misfits" is --- well, just Google this motley, foul-mouthed, toilet-tongued crew. Check out their photos and lyrics. And I think you'll agree that the word "misfit" doesn't even begin to accurately describe these raunchy rappers.

As for Jenna Bush saying that her Mom and Dad, if begged, would "shake it like a Polaroid picture" (an "Outkast" lyric), the folks at Polaroid say their pictures should not be shaken. A Polaroid spokesman says: "Almost everybody does it, thinking that shaking accelerates the development process, but if you shake it too vigorously you could distort the image. A casual shake typically doesn't affect it."

Barbara Bush said she and Jenna, while not very political, love their Dad "too much to stand back and watch from the sidelines." So, they are campaigning for him. But if they love their Dad, and I'm sure they do, and want to help him, perhaps they should not only stand back and watch from the sidelines but also be quiet while they are standing and watching.

Finally, "Outkast" was not at the GOP Convention. But there were those who were cast out and not allowed to speak there in primetime --- any identifiable outspoken conservative who is: Pro-life; anti-illegal immigration; pro-Second Amendment; anti-Big Government; against Federally-funded education; and anti the war in Iraq.

It's a press release.

Will the media go after Peroutka's remarks about Bush's daughters as much as they have Keyes' remarks about Cheney's daughter?

Sounds like the Constitution Party has the same well-developed sense of humor as the Democrats.

Losers.

What a humorless priss. Just another reason why I'll be voting GOP even though ideologically I am far closer in alignment to the Constitution party.

Why should they care what Peroutka says? Why should we? He has all the political impact of Harry Brown or Lyndon LaRouche.

Imbecile.
Does he really think this act hadn't been vetted and aproved by parents and grandparents far in advance?

Peroutka would love to be mentioned in any article, favorable or not. But the truth is nobody cares what he thinks or says.

Anybody want to guess his total nationwide vote total November 2? Will it be high enough to be reported?

The twins found being funny before an audience of millions is quite difficult. The Constitution Party found beating up on a young women is not politically wise.

sheesh.

After reading what he said he plans to do if elected (unconstitutional presidential mandates), I don't think he even knows what the constitution party is supposed to stand for.

The Bush girls were probably nervous speaking at RNC, and should have been prepped better.

I don't think Peroutka's remarks will do much, the media is too busy promoting Kerry to pay much attention.

Jenna Bush's assertion that "Outkast" is a band and "not a bunch of misfits" is --- well,

"... just not being as stern faced and grumpy as I want them to be". Lighten up, they're 21 year old kids.

Sorry to veer off topic. But I'm having a heck of a time posting pics in my posts. Usually I can do it really easily in e-mails to people. I'm new to FR so I'm not sure what method you have to use to do this. Any help please???

If he really cringed and felt sorry, he should just let the matter drop, instead of trying to raise the visibility again. I didn't like their speech, but I've moved well past it. Maybe this guy needs some sort of grief counseling, so that he can 'learn to let go'...

Never seen a pic of Peroutka but I'm envisioning something along the lines of Bob Schieffer.

With everything that happened at the Republican Convention, this goofball focuses on Bush's DAUGHTERS?

The media will not mention Peroutka's name a single time over the next two months because he's no more than a pimple on a monkey's butt.

Shouldn't "Michael Anthony Peroutka" (I've personally never heard of him) be telling us what his platform is rather than finding fault with a couple of kids?

These folks' kids would get up and chant, cult like, "my daddy says that we should love the Constitution, Jesus and all the authors of the Federalist Papers."

"We love daddy! Even though he tapes all our phone calls. "We know only does this to protect us from those who are not our friends."

This fellow wants to be taken seriously as a presidential contender and he goes out his way to attack the Bush twins? A stunningly embarrassing and inept political decision, even for an asterisk candidate. This guy's on his way to the land of LaRouche, Pat Paulson and Pogo.
