Just arm the teachers

bump! And the parents, the bus drivers, the janitors, the principal, the crosswalk supervisors, kids who master reasonable NRA shooting course levels...

Horrors like this certainly make you think an armed citizenry is a safer citizenry.

Thanks for your support on my second paragraph. I think I should amend it to say "If all the 15 and 16 year-olds and teachers were armed in the Russian school, this catastrophe WOULD have been avoided." A hundred teachers and students with .45 automatics could have fought off these thugs if they all responded quickly. I think we're only ten to twenty years away from mandatory firearms training in the western world. You know, the police can't be everywhere at once, so we just have to harden all our soft targets. Citizen soldiers is the only way to do that. Have a great holiday weekend.

Third, Mecca needs to be destroyed. I would suggest a nuclear strike.

Good idea, but wait 'till the haaj.

Thanks to the Internet and talk radio, the mainstream media cannot hide this Russian slaughter from the American people. It is a major topic among a huge number of people. In today's on-line world, an atrocity like this cannot be hidden. We should not fall for the old trap that because it is not on the networks, nobody knows about it. Those days are gone.

Thanks for the ping.

For the Islamist terrorist to target a school is an unspeakable crime. Whatever punishment Putin and the Russians can inflict on these subhumans will not bother me.

It seems like the effects of 9-11 have passed on this country. To bad we couldn't stack the dead of that attack like cord-wood as they could in Russia. Just maybe some of our uninterested citizens here would wake up.

Gees, thousands of public schools. There are many public schools in America. It is going to be a formidable task.

My gut tells me that Putin is going to go nuts on these Islamofascists in a very non-PC way....

We can only hope.

His unwillingness to curtail illegal entry from the South is one of his biggest failures and weaknesses.

Just out of curiosity, what exactly is the democratic, especially, kerry's position on the the border. I mean, if the president is going to lose big if the event you alluded to actually happens, that would mean that the dems have a much more "conservative" plan should they be in control of the white house?

Actually, it will not matter what the possition of the dems is. A certain percentage of voters will be so mad at Bush for not closing the border, that they will vote against Bush, NOT for Kerry. These will be the moderates who shift with the wind. It was this type of peole who threw the Spanish election last minute. (They knew that the lefties had no better plan...but they were mad at the conservetives for allowing it to happen.)

"I would estimate less then 2% of americans know the full story about what happened here."

Fortunately, Laura Ingraham shares your concern and will be discussing the massacre and its global implications on her show Tuesday.

If Putin does a tenth of what you say, there will be no denying that a world war is raging. When was the last time the Russian army attacked another country--Afghanistan?

A bold military move by Putin would probably help his standing with the Russian people. They have to be feeling terribly demoralized right now. I am astonished that more people in the United States do not recognize the significance of the world's second largest nuclear power being ready to launch a foreign war as big as our own invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq. We can't tell yet exactly where and how Putin will strike. But we can be confident that he won't be timid.
