A combat veteran who testified to war crimes during the 1971 "Winter Soldier Investigation" has filed an affidavit claiming John Kerry and other leaders of Vietnam Veterans Against the War coerced him into making false claims.

There is no doubt a group that would train and plot to kill Senators, vice presidents, and other leaders, is not above making up stories. Everything that Kerry testified to was crap.

That's all it takes to discredit whatever he said back in 1971.
Still, he's now saying Kerry and his goons coerced him into telling lies. That's a new one, so I propose that John Kerry be asked about it ~ in public ~ by someone in the MSM.
An AP reporter probably ought to do the job. Failure of the questions to be asked, however, should be taken as proof of what the man says about being coerced.
This is a still developing story. But there seems to be some "irregularities" already.
The timing really is suspicious here. Don't forget, Kerry has a new crew of Clintonoids working for him now. This may be an attempt to create a "firebreak."

I empathize with the guy. I had my own personal experience dealing with a "cult" back in the mid 80's. They catch you when your at a bad point in your life. I suffered with manic-depression back then and I never had it treated until the early 90's. It's real easy to get sucked into it. Group dynamics is a great powerful psychological force. Instead of getting medical treatment I was subjected to group thearpy which was run by very inexperienced people who had agendas. My counsleor was physically abused as a child and she brought that into the meetings. I was never abused as a kid but after the meetings I was totally convinced I was. I was really messed up mentally. I was convinced I was abused as a child. The group created false memories for me because they were talking about it too. The group told me I was in denial or I was repressing those memories. It was okay to denounce my parents for their abusive behavior. Group behavior make you conform to their belief system and its easy to make things up to be accepted. You want to feel better because you want to get out of your depression. I can relate to the guy very very much.
If VVAW was giving mental health treatment to this guy, they were unethical. It's like molesting your mind! Makes me upset thinking about it.
Ignore the Vietnam War stateside experience at the Republic's peril. After winning all the battles, I think it is fair to say, our forces and their allies were ordered to stand down and accept virtual defeat. Then came the Communists' violations of the "peace" and actual defeat. No surprise.
There was no Internet and thanks to the "Fairness Doctrine" darn little discussion on radio. You could find the full story -- if you looked hard enough, really looked end-to-end, top-to-bottom, behind every magazine in a magazine store's magazine rack.
It was "anti-war," "South Vietnamese government oppression and corruption," "destroy the village to save the village," and worse all the time in the media.
That is how it was. No wonder it was easy for the young man to go along to get along. "Pitkin started 'to slam the press . . . a woman he believes was Jane Fonda shot him an astonished look . . . other members of the group [appeared] ready to cut him off, so he changed course and made up a few things he thought they would be willing to accept.'"

By 1968 Walter stopped the pretense of "reporting" and signaled his colleagues to begin the process of defeat for the U.S. More than a decade earlier (1953) Edward R. Morrow signaled his colleagues that it was time to stop the pretense of reporting fairly about McCarthy, destroy him, and stop this anti-communism stuff.
Whatever you think about McCarthy events have proved he was correct to investigate. Whatever you think about Cronkite, IMO, he helped prolong the war (that our forces were near to winning by getting NV to the peace table, IMO) causing hundreds of thousands of more people to suffer death and injury.
Thank you for the correction--must have been early morning fog. However, I am still leary about making this an issue yet---something just doesn't feel right.
