THE "New" CBS BUSH DOCUMENTS: Let's do some investigating
www.freerepublic.com | September 9, 2004

Posted on 09/08/2004 9:16:02 PM PDT by Howlin

These are the NEW documents "discovered" by CBS with conjunction with their Ben Barnes expose/confessional tonight regarding George Bush's National Guard service.

They've gotten some interesting comments on the Live Thread, so I thought I'd give them their own thread so you people out there with the knowledge can dissect them for their accuracy/truth/existence.

Yahoo maps shows that zip-code for 5000 Longmont Dr., Houston, TX is 77056 not 77027 as addressed in memo #1.

The zip code of that address is listed as 77027 in Bush's 2000 personnel files.

Cool idea!

Confirm the base address and zip code for the ANG unit for the 72-73 time frame..

Naw, that was pretty much still the Fly and Fight good old days

WE didn't catch up with all that fancy admin stuff, at least in flying outfits, until a lot later then that

actually, if they really took the time to send him a letter over the commanders signature he'd probablly all ready had his butt chewed verbally once or twice, that's the way it was usually done

"Some of the speculation is just fun for the sake of it"

I'll buy that. I just hope people don't tie themselves too tightly in a knot over the whole issue. It just doesn't merit much thought.

That is indeed odd. The only way I can see it is if somebody typed out a bunch of letterhead paper ahead of time, and then somebody used it on a different machine.

A side thought, just where and when did the author of these memos die? Was Bush such a famous figure outside Texas at the date of his death that the family would hold on to a paper because it had Bush's name on it? Was GHWB in office when he died?

Rush said it early on. "This is gonna be fun". Just sit back and relax and enjoy.

I'm not having much fun at all with this one. It has got me worried. If nothing else, it breaks our momentum and puts us on defense.

The other thing I worry about is if this is the "Mid-September" surprise, what are the RATs holding back for October? Hopefully, I am over-reacting and America will greet this news with a collective yawn, but I'm not so sure about that.

" Are the superscript letter the exact same size as the regular letters? "

NO!!! They are much smaller. The only way I can imagine it could be done was with one of the IBM typewriters with a removable ball. In the middle of the document, the typist would have had to stop, change balls, type two letters, change balls again, and proceed. In the address at the top he did not bother, he put 111th with no superscript. In the first paragraph he just wrote 111 F.L.S.. In paragraph 2 he puts 111th with a superscript that is clearly a smaller font.

NO WAY IN THE WORLD!

LOL........then you ARE like the rest of us.

Frankly, one of my favorite things on FR is reading/watching you military guys tear up pictures and anything military that somebody is trying to foist on the rest of us.

Well, thank you.

Of course, that could all be described by some as "just plain nosey" I guess........LOL.

This is my favorite part of FR; always has been.

This says the transfer to Alabama was accepted but Killian claims it wasn't allowed.

Application Acceptable

You are right, not one of those documents has proportional spacing.

I am not an expert ...I know nothing but what I see...These do not look or sound like real documents....Pursue this with a vengeance, however.
Dan Rather should be fired for putting this out if they are falsified

I had recommended that site earlier. One thing you definitely come away with is that these CBS produced documents are not in keeping with any standards. They are not signed in the same way, they are not copied in the same way, they are not written on behalf of in the same way, etc.

Guilty as charged. Now THAT is babbling. I'll now retire back to my hole with my tail between my legs.

Thanks for the link. Here is a comparison of the signatures from the memo and Bush's document.

The memo is on top.
