BushGuardaugust1 memo - a FAKE
CBS, self | 9/9/04 | Carl Donath

Posted on 09/09/2004 2:09:48 PM PDT by ctdonath2

Proof the CBS document BushGuardaugust1.pdf is a FAKE:

Original text, slightly adjusted for rectangular fit:

Same text, screen capture of document written in MS Word 2002 with no effort to match original aside from document width:

Overlapping images, with original as B/W negative:

Aside from slight warping presumably due to distortion introduced by a low-quality photocopier, the two texts line up exactly. The "30+ year old proof" against Bush is a fraud.

I wasn't going to get my hopes up about this, but the evidence I have seen on this and other threads makes it damn clear that the documents are fake.

I was puzzled from the beginning because I pushed a lot of military typewriters during my time in the service. I came in in 1976 and the most common machine was the IBM Selectric. The most common font used for military work was either Courier (not sure of that spelling, it's early here) or OCR for messages. Courier, once you get used to it, is impossible to mistake for anything else. And the docs are definitely not Courier.

I was wondering what they were saying over there. I refuse to even look as it would affect my blood pressure.

I did see it on drudge, thank you, but I thought the actual PICTURE of the type superimposed on the memo might be something drudge would put on his site (or a link to it). I think the picture of what we have just seen provides a compelling argument. Some people really need to SEE what folks are talking about.

Actually, I'm rather impressed with the candor and logic expressed in three of the posts. I didn't think they had it in them.

I happen to know a bit about the 1970's vintage selectric as I owned one. My dad's thesis in mathematical statistics was typed on it. I typed my papers in college on it. I'm pretty familar with the whole type/font thing on them since I had lots of different symbol balls needed to type all the various complex mathematical expressions. This wasn't typed on an early 1970's Selectric. The DUers have reason to be worried.

Someone is desperate.

Yep. When the evidence is presented in such a way as it has been here, it's hard to refute. Besides, as hungry as the leftists are to get anything-ANYTHING-on Bush, this would have come out a long time ago, like when things were really heating up re the Swift Boat Vets (if this wasn't pure bunk). But,the ineptitude of the left is so blatant and predictable, they make stupidity appear to be a virtue.
As I stated earlier...Keep up the good work, idiots!
