October 22, 2004 - See Bush and Uncommon Valor www.nsar.us Article: Series One Leapfrogged Hundreds Hoax and Political Influence/Favoritism Hoax Since Left-Wing Media (LWM) has fabricated many hoaxes (concerning President Bush's Air National Guard service), it is not practical to address each of them in one article - so they will be presented to the American people in a series, starting with the “Leapfrogged Hundreds Hoax” and “Political Influence/Favoritism...

The first big network smearSeptember 11th, 2004 CBS aired it. Dan Rather was the reporter. The program attempted to damage the reputation of a commander-in-chief. Are we talking about Wednesday’s 60 Minutes? No, we’re talking about a CBS Reports program The Uncounted Enemy: A Vietnam Deception, which ran January 23, 1982. Now you might think that the subtitle refers to John Kerry. Actually, the program sought to prove that General William C. Westmoreland, then Commander-in-Chief of U.S. forces in Vietnam, deliberately misled President Johnson, the Pentagon and Americans as to the actual strength of the VC/NVA just prior to the 1968...

Teddy Bart on his daily radio show, "Teddy Bart's Roundtable" may have given us a clue about who knew about the documents nearly a month ago. It appears that Bob Tuke, who was a guest on the show on August 11th knew that something was about to happen with regard to President Bush's alleged failure to show up for a physical examination. Teddy referenced the episode on September 9th when he said, "listeners to the Roundtable will note that something was going to come because Bob Tuke, who is a Nashville attorney and significant in the Kerry campaign in Tennessee,...

THE CBS mess variously known as “Forgerygate” or “Rathergate” is by any other name a seminal moment in the blogosphere that holds promise not only for revolutionizing journalism, but also perhaps for problem-solving on a global scale. And why not? Still in relative infancy, the blogosphere — that new galaxy within the journalism universe wherein citizen journalists known as bloggers (short for keepers of Web logs) chat among themselves through mutual links and commentary — has defined itself in large part as a vehicle for challenging the mainstream media (MSM). (Note from tdadams: Parker wrote this acronym. It was not...

My good friend Bob Krumm brought this interesting tidbit to my attention on Friday. I remember listening to the show, but hadn't thought about it since the questionable Bush related Guard documents surfaced. Cutting and pasting from Bob's email: Nashville radio talk show may give us a clue about who had prior knowledge of the forged documents The next question regarding the 60 Minutes fraud is: who gave the CBS show the bogus documents? Veteran Nashville broadcaster, Teddy Bart on his daily radio show, “Teddy Bart’s Roundtable” may have given us a clue about who knew about the documents...

But the nagging question remained: Could an IBM Selectric Composer have been used to produce these documents? I found my answer the same place everybody finds everything these days: Google. Typing "IBM Selectric Composer" into that search site took me to the aptly named ibmcomposer.org, which describes itself as "the only site on the Internet completely dedicated to the IBM 'Selectric' Composer line of typesetting machines." The site, which is run by Gerry Kaplan, includes information, scanned user manuals, and photographs of the only working IBM Selectric Composer I've been able to find. And, fortunately for me, it also includes...
  • Vanity: Underlined superscript "th" on legitimate memo

Sorry. I never post vanities. This is my first one. I'm having an online argument with someone about "the memos". They're claiming Dan Rather said there are many documents from the time period, some released by the WH, with "the same" superscript "th" as the memo in question. I pointed out that it's not the same. The one Rather showed was underlined and the superscript did not extend above the level of the other letters. I know I saw a picture of this somewhere but can't find it. Does anyone have a link to it? Thanks.

This MIGHTY body of fine Americans has done it! Well done, once again free speech has percolated truth to the surface. I would think now is the time for justice! And that means we must hold all that were involved in this "act of treason" accountable. Let's start with the messenger, Dan Rather. Dan Rather has dealt with documents throughout his career and has reported the limitations of verifying photo-copies in the past. I think that someone who has the access, should Lexis/Nexus transcripts of previous 60 min shows where Rather espouses to verification techniques. I just wonder if there...

A former Texas Air National Guard general relied upon by CBS News to support the authenticity of memos about President Bush's military service said he never saw the memos before the show aired, and that he doesn't now believe they are authentic. Retired Maj. Gen. Bobby Hodges of Arlington also said that one of the memos' references to undue pressure to "sugar coat" Mr. Bush's evaluations rings false. He said Col. Walter "Buck" Staudt did not interfere in Guard affairs after his retirement, 18 months before the date on the disputed memo. [...SeeB.S. spokesman says they still stand behind the...

Dan Rather came under criticism after it was revealed by the Washington Post that he had given a keynote speech at a fund-raiser for Texas Democrats: GERALDO RIVERA: Let me just read you this news account, April 5th, USA Today: "Conservatives and pundits had a field day at Dan Rather's expense Wednesday after the CBS anchor apologized for being the star attraction at a recent Democratic fundraiser in Texas that raised 20 grand." Was that one of the worst mistakes you've made at least recently? DAN RATHER: Well, it certainly was one of the dumbest mistakes I ever made. But...

For one expert, the jury is still out. I was thrilled a short time ago to to have a phone call returned from the recognized expert in forensic investigation of documents. He is Dr. Philip Bouffard. We discussed his preliminary findings "The biggest problem," he said, "is that these are terrible copies." As of yesterday, Dr. Bouffard seemed to get aboard the feeling that the CBS Killian memos were forged. As of now, "it is a little bit up in the air." He needs to see better documents and has no idea what CBS has. A colleage in Ottawa sent...

September 9, 2004 Documents Suggest Special Treatment for Bush in Guard By KATHARINE Q. SEELYE and RALPH BLUMENTHAL ASHINGTON, Sept. 8 - President Bush's Vietnam-era service in the National Guard came under renewed scrutiny on Wednesday as newfound documents emerged from his squadron commander's file that suggested favorable treatment. At the same time, a once powerful Texas Democrat came forward to say that he had "abused my position of power" by helping Mr. Bush and others join the Guard. Democrats also worked to stoke the issue with a new advertisement by a Texas group that featured a former lieutenant colonel,...

At this precise time every four years, the most media-savvy members of the Gang of 500 begin to think about their roles in the premiere post-election forum that revisits the actions and players of the presidential race.
September 10, 2004 -- THE populist revolu tion against the so- called mainstream media continues. Yesterday, the citizen journalists who produce blogs on the Internet — and their engaged readers — engaged in the wholesale exposure of what appears to be a presidential-year dirty trick against George W. Bush. What the bloggers and their audiences did was call into profound question the authenticity of four documents proudly trumpeted by CBS News in a much-heralded investigative report on Wednesday night's edition of "60 Minutes" about the president's National Guard service in the early 1970s.

This is a serious crime, altering military records to not only slander a war-time President, but that also suggest criminal activity. These forged memos suggested serious charges against our President, and should not be taken lightly. Whenever the Democrats suggest the Republicans might have done something wrong, they demand a full-scale congressional investigations. These memos are linked to sources inside the DNC, and it is important to get to the bottom of this. Whomever did this commited a serious crime. Our limp-wristed Representives must grow a backbone and demand that this be thoroughly and quickly investigated. I can guarentee you,...
