"Do you feel like you were duped -- working for Fox like you do?"
"No, I don't. Please answer the question, Mr. Rather."
He IS the duper!!!

One could tell Rather was PO'ed. But then MSM types don't like themselves becoming the story. They prefer to be the scrutinizers, rather than the scrutinees. Still, Rather handled it well, except for the Foxnews dupe crack.
I think what animated Rather more than his ideology, is the competitive aspect of it all. He wants to beat the competition even if it requires cutting corners. Pity the guy was so poorly educated and has an IQ of maybe around 115, neither of which are sufficient to beat the competition with real substance. Dan is less into substance than folksy little phrases, most of which are inappropriate and grate on this poster's ears.
And there you have it.

The implication being ... CBS duped Rather into doing a corrupt, fraudulent story ... and that Fox is a corrupt, fraudulent network, AND that the reporter (Dan) is as innocent and pure as the wind-driven show?
Or that, while ABC and the WaPo are tearing DR an new drain pipe, this is actually a production of Fox and those rightwing crazies who watch FNC. He still doesn't get it.

Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling...

Dan's got no worries. There is no story here, other than the fact that the President refuses to answer questions about his guard duty and how he shirked his responsibilities, and how the facist right-wing conservative nazis are alleging that the documents are fake. At least that's the way he'll play it until something else takes over the headlines. Always remember with these guys the facts just get in the way of the story.

I saw this incident on Fox and Rather's comment about Fox didn't make any sense to me either. The only thought that comes to mind is that Rather must hate Fox's enormous success as much as he hates President Bush.

Dan Rather has basically disproven his own theory.

The reporter, from the local Fox affiliate, asked Rather if he felt he was duped. By selling a LOT of Viacom stock last week, apparently Sunmner Redstone thinks Rather was duped. Or worse.

I agree with Rather on this one. I feel duped by Bill O'Reilly not calling a forger a forger.
Bill says he just knows Rather didn't do this on purpose and anybody who thinks he may have, has to be a right wing nut!!
Even though the facts show Rather did put forged documents on the air knowing they were forgeries. Rather was warned.
Yes, fox duped us on this one Dan!!!

When Rather told O'Reilly that he thought a man could lie about alot of things and still be honest, I think it obvious he was commenting on himself as much as BJ. Dan must have spent a great many nights over the years rationalizing his behaviour.

So he is in TEXAS to put together a defense. More lies and forged, fake testimony. The Pajama People will get him no matter where he goes.
