If they're going to do something about it, it will be later in the day. Although, I'm surprised the web master for the server isn't up at all hours. Every other decent web master stays up day in and day out...

"First I picked Edwards BUT now I pick Hanoi Jane!"

Edwards played football in 1971 when he turned 18
instead of serving in Vietnam.
Hanoi Jane at least was a Viet Cong!
Just like me!

Hanoi Jane and I know how to demoralize US Troops serving today!

We hate US Troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

We hate all US Troops!

We lie about them in 2004 the same as we did in the 60's and 70's!

This has been up there for a long time (a year). An earlier version of the page had the slogan "watch for devolution in action" under the morph. Note the crappy science indicated by a lack of understanding of the term "devolution"!

Note that the Principal Investigator is Marc Hauser. Here's the info:

Marc Hauser, PhD, Professor
Affiliations: Department of Psychology
Program in Neurosciences
Mind, Brain and Behavior Faculty Fellow
Speech and Hearing Sciences Faculty, MIT-Harvard-MGH

Address:
33 Kirkland Street, Dept. of Psychology, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, 02138

Phones:
(617) 496-7077 (office)
(617) 495-3886 (lab)

E-mail address is: mdhauser@wjh.harvard.edu

The webmaster is Fiery Cushman (cushman@wjh.harvard.edu)

Enjoy!

Further proof that liberals are crass, uncouth people and the amount of education one has does not necessarily equate to decency and morals.

If they can't win with facts they resort to intimidation and juvenile behavior such as this ridiculos thing.

While you will find the reverse of some of these questions on the site (for example, the last one is asked as if the policy is *good* for the environment, to compare with your response as it is listed here), I don't see any that frame questions from a perspective like:

"An environmental policy to chase down minor concentrations of certain contaminants in remote areas will cost the country billions of dollars over the next decade and not directly prevent any human deaths. Is it morally permissible to implement such a policy, even if it would mean less funding is available to prevent the deaths of many people who could be saved by medical advances or personal prosperity?"

This seems like a basic flaw in the research project's design, and it's interesting to consider how many people are faking results on the site and in the traditional studies to screw up the results for this "researcher." One good thing is that there are calls for an investigation into this center's activities. I hope they proceed.

I just spoke with the secretary for Lawrence Summers, Pres. of Harvard University. She laughed but also sounded surprised. I was sent to the news office and spoke with Evan Whitney. He is supposed to be getting back to me with a comment. Also, she gave me the emal for the media liaison. She will be getting this info.

Assistant to Dr. Hauser knew about it but had no comment. Okay, folks, let's get this story rolling.

Yes, they changed it. But I got an assistant in the lab to admit to it and it was captured on Quicktime.

Most federal support for this lab would come from the NIH. You can retrieve the grants online at its CRISP database (just google NIH grants database), but the problem will be that the description won't include the dollar amount of the grant. But you can probably assume that overall Harvard gets hundreds of millions in federal grants every year.

The National Science Foundation does show the dollar amounts of the grants it gives in its online database, but my bet is that NIH is a far larger source of funds than NSF for the type of work this lab does.

I would imagine that if you inquired further NIH would have to tell you the amount of any grants. If you really want to know, contact the NIH grants office and ask for a list of grants to this laboratory and the amount of each. I would expect that this would be public information despite not being in the CRISP database.
