What would be the consequences of having another Democratic Administration?

Posted on 09/26/2004 6:26:32 AM PDT by HankReardon

I was among the 19% that voted for Ross Perot in '92, my vote otherwise would have been a Bush vote. At work the day after the election a young liberal co-worker asked my what terrible things did I think was going to happen just because Bill Clinton was president. All I could say was he seemed disingenious to me, untrustworthy, a people pleaser. Now in hindsight I know the answer. The military and intelligence agencies was under assault right away with downsizing of funds and personnel. Political leanings took precedence over ability and experience at high ranking positions. "Clinton thinking" people were installed. The greatest health care system in the world quickly came under assault with an attempt nationalize, govermnent fund the system. When the Republicans gained control in Congress in '94 Clinton was so concerned about his re-election chances that millions of dollars were illegally accepted from our enemies, the Communist Chinese military. This money moved from the PLA, to the Chinese Lippo Group in the Philippines, to the Democratic National Committee then to the Clinton/Gore campaign. It would be difficult to list all of what the Chinese bought with this money. In order for American companies to transfer civilian nuclear technology to another nation the President must first declare the nation a non-miltary threat and as not a threat for proliferation. No president was confident to do this concerning Communist China until Bill Clinton, he did. He also eased trade restrictions concerning other sensitive technologies. Even with this, another large Clinton/ Gore contributor, Loral Space was fined $14 million was illegally selling sensitive technologies to our enemy. It is estimated that China's nuclear and space program advanced decades ahead than it otherwise would have. The regime in North Korea are oppressive murderers, torturers and lying communists. The Clinton administration knowing all this in order to look as if they were achieving accomplishments pretended they were honest people and would not violate a treaty. The NK's were paid for their promise to dis-continue trying to develop nuclear weapons. They are now a suspected military nuclear power. An American citizen, Paula Jones was denied Justice by a sitting American President. Perjury was committed and then he used his power to try to cover this up. Crimes were committed, witness tampering, obstruction of Justice, Abuse of Power .... Many life long Democrats dishonored themselves, their families, their constituents, their country by public acclaiming the perpetration of these crimes by a sitting American President against an American citizen was simply a part of President Clinton's personnel life. President Clinton was on a perpetual campaign while in office, he was poll driven. After re-election he acted to enhance how history would portray him, building a legacy. He vetoed Welfare reform twice, only when the polls showed the people were in favor of this did he sign the Bill. President Clinton was the corrupt CEO of the Federal Government. Just as many corporations had to readjust their numbers after the departure of their corrupt CEO's the Federal Government also did this in August of 2001. It seems while the economy was slowing and heading toward recesion during the 2000 election inaccurate numbers from the government hid this fact from the electorate. The United States and it's interests around the world were under attack all through the Clinton Administration. Many incidents demonstrate his lack of political courage in substaining military casualties. Haitti, Somalia, Bosnia, Kosivo, the lack of a sufficient miltary response against Al Qaeda. Iraq was continuously in violation of the Cease Fire Treaty of '91. The "Gorelick Wall" was put in place which forbid the CIA and the FBI from sharing information. The United Staes was attacked less than 8 months into the following, over 3,000 innocent civilians died here in America because Bill Clinton was President. There has to be so much more of the consequences from having a Democratic Administration that I am leaving out. This is a long enough read anyway. It is proper and right that now we all speculate and consider what will be the consequences of having a Democratic Administrtion beginning in January 2005. My prediction is that we lose at least one major metropolitan area. This may happen anyway becaue of the recklessness of the Clinton 8 years but would be less likely to happen with a Democrat NOT in the Oval Office. A strong prediction? For me to answer my co-worker in November of '92 with the facts we now know would have also been a strong prediction.

Great post and GREAT content! (I waded through the non-paragraph version, and then some wonderful FReeper posted it in a more readable format. Both versions were terrific!)

Nothing less than civilization is at stake here (not that I'm an alarmist or anything, lol!)

Of course it is, and it has been done throughout the country.

Bush will win in a landslide.

These are serious times and people take it seriously. The political attitudes toted in the '90's are nonexistent in '04.

Feel good rhetoric has been replaced by firm and decisive action as the #1 quality looked for in our President.

Roe v. Wade would never be overturned. Indeed, Court watchers and party insiders recognize that the core of this battle is over control and domination of the Federal Judiciary -- which has asserted itself as the most influential branch of Government.

I Bush loses, I expect three retirements: O'Connor, Rehnquist, and Stevens. The loss of Rehnquist will add another pro-abortion vote -- making it a 6-3 or even 7-2 pro-abortion Court.

Conventional Wisdom is that Rehnquist is hanging on trying to outlast Stevens and the frail O'Connor. Indeed, with Ginsberg's health suspect, Rehnquist continues to see possibilities. The problem now is, Rehnquist is not only getting old -- 79 I believe -- but his back is terrible. He cannot even sit through the Oral arguments. If Bush loses, he will likely not try to make the remaining four years -- and may not make them anyway.

Stevens is 84 -- and in otherwise okay health -- but his is not going to retire with a Republican in office. He is waiting for a dem -- and hoping to live that long to protect his abortion vote.

The mostly interesting, of course, is O'Connor. She is the youngest of those three, but is not in the best of health. She is the one who broke ranks and is credited with keeping the Shell of Roe alive in the Casey decision. She did so under fierce pressure from her colleagues. She will not go and surrender her pro-abortion vote to a republican.

Bush Junior is the first President in a VERY long time not to get a single appointment, and it is clear that the battle lines are drawn. (Indeed, many in the know believe that Kennedy was tricked into voting with the majority in Casey, and that he has subsequently come to believe he was mistaken. I am not sure of that, but the rigidness of the two sides makes one believe that neither side is sure what he might do, if there is a next time.)

Obviously, the judiciary battle has been playing out since Bork. The dems have used everything to stop Bush from filling other prominent seats in Federal District Courts or in the Courts of Appeal. This under the belief that they will retake the Presidency and the Senate.

Control of Judicial appointments will allow dems to keep Judicially legislated liberal policies alive. (e.g. free public k-12 education for illegal aliens, Affirmative action, etc.)

While this battle is the centerpiece of national political strategists, it has not even gained a whisper from any substantive media source. If Kerry wins -- he will get two appointments for sure -- and Rehnquist may well go. Though the principled leader of the fight may choose instead to die on the job.

I just could not agree more.

America woke up on 9/11 - I am praying she has not gone back to sleep in this election. And .. I am encouraged by the public's ability to see the CBS scam as just that - a criminal scam against President Bush.

If Kerry brings troops home from Iraq - Iraq will implode and cause a civil war .. it will also disburse terrorists all over the world, including the USA. Kerry will write EO's to soften restrictions for foreign travel. With that said, we'll need all our military here to defend us in the streets from the constant terror attacks.

Just think about Israel .. ask yourself if you are willing to subject your family to that kind of life.

Iraq has been a magnet .. to draw the enemy down to one location .. instead of allowing the terrorists to attack America again.

I believe there was collusion between perot & clinton of some sort. Has anyone ever mentioned any kind of a payoff to perot for putting clinton in office? I can't recall.

I always thought perot was scamming the "volunteers". After the election there is always a big ball/party. I remember seeing perot dancing with his wife. He was the happiest man in the room & he had just lost the election & spend millions of his own money doing it. But he had accomplished what he wanted, the defeat of GHWBush.
