yeah - remember that during the debates - algore got threatening with his body language...Whereupon he was promptly "taken to the woodshed" by W with just a look. Lurch would be utterly stupid to try to repeat that performance...

My thoughts exactly, GWB is going to kick JfnKs ass till it falls off and then hand it to him.
Yep! That's right! Part of me pities Kerry. It's like he doesn't see it coming. The other part of me can't wait to see it all unfold.
Yes....I do believe we're gonna get to see a whooping televised nationally.... You think Kerry cried, "Make it stop!" about the Swift Vets for Truth...just wait until about half to two thirds through the debate. Even if he's not crying, he'll be wanting too!

Kerry has a real pinache for incredibly bold lies being dropped in the heat of debate. He has a history of it in Massamess.
Bush needs to be prepared to whack him off at the knees if he reaches for the lie weapon. In the past, Kerry's use of incredible lies have left his opponents at a loss for words. If Bush nails him on a lie, he cannot leave the slightest out for Kerry, which is hard to do and still seem likeable. Bush needs to be ruthlessly blunt.

"There will be no surprises," he (Garry Mauro) told Fox News. "His [Mr Bush's] weakness [is that] he won't be intellectually curious about anything anyone says.
"[But] that's hard to say that's a weakness because he will talk to the American people. He will ignore John Kerry absolutely. It will be very interesting to see if anyone is able to engage him beyond what he wants to say to the American people."
How can that be? In the same article, one said that President Bush was a genius; the other said that he was intellectually challenged????

Such titbits of advice were two-a-penny in Washington yesterday ahead of what the New York Times dubbed "a showdown of style" between a "dancer" who "flicks around the periphery of issues" and a puncher, who "pounds right through them". Who is the dancer? Who is the puncher?

"Bush needs to be prepared to whack him off at the knees if he reaches for the lie weapon."
I wish Bush could keep the Freerepublic live thread open on a podium lap top. The brilliant collective Freeper mind always delivers!

I think a charicterization of Kerry being a highly compensated dancer of issues is more appropriate. He has no real desire to solve or diminish any single issue, as the music he dances to has been his generous employer during his entire professional career. Well, that and marrying rich widows.
Bush on the other hand demands everyone takes a seat when the music stops. Some dancers find themselves without a seat at that point.

if Kerry gets mad and says "Ghenghis Khan" or anything like it, game over...nothing turns off southern and midwestern swing voters more than an angry Bostonian

You might be right...nevertheless, it'll be fun to see.
BTW, isn't it interesting to note how the media this time 'round doesn't wonder about the "gravitas" of George W. Bush, or wonder if he is "smart enough" to handle the issue/policy questions?? :)
