Dean "Guarantees" on National TV That Bush Will Instate Draft If Re-elected
Posted on 10/02/2004 10:29:17 PM PDT by Remember_Salamis
On Tim Russert's Show (his other show), Howard Dean "Guaranteed" That Bush Will start a draft. He then laid out reasons why. Tim Russert, of course, didn't mention to him that the only pieces of draft legislation were written by Democrats.
A sign of things to come...

I can not believe that this lie is still going around, Bush needs to come out and talk about this. MSM is going to keep on pushing it.

Tim Russert, of course, didn't mention to him that the only pieces of draft legislation were written by Democrats. This is exactly why I've always regarded him as a fraud.
Why Russert gets ANY credit for being "neutral" is beyond me.

I can not believe that this lie is still going around, Bush needs to come out and talk about this. I hear ya. I really wish that the Bush campaign would nip this crap in the bud instead of letting it get enough steam that it passes from lie into truth in the minds of the lamestream media and the "newspapers and anchormen don't lie!" sheeple.

What do you mean, still going around? It's getting bigger and bigger... Thanks to the Bush team's inability or unwillingness to actually confront these lies.
Something like the first debate.

Rita Cosby on Big Story Weekend tonight asked Sec of Defense Rumsfeld if there was any truth to reinstating the draft.. several times.. he was emphatic - NO!

Did Tim remind him that only Congress can do this in the first place? And even though this is a lie of course, so what if he did?

Well, you can never say "never". What if there was a catastrophic terror attack and we found out the perpetrators came through the Mexican border. What if we had to draft border agents???

Tim Russert, of course, didn't mention to him that the only pieces of draft legislation were written by Democrats. Gee, thats strange, he is always so even handed... oh wait.. you're talking about Tim 'zero integrity' Russert. Nevermind. : )

I think we should start a military draft for Democrats only. Since they're so interested in it let's ship a few of them away especially Howard Dean, Dan Rather, Tom Brokaw, Peter Jennings, Barbara Streisand. I think it would be fun to see them serve their country.
To: F16Fighter
Russert is NOT neutral he's a liberal, I don't know who calls him neutral... Some in the media might, maybe even some conservatives because maybe they like him personally OR they feel it will help them on future interviews... not sure, but what i do know is he is definitely a rat...
