The Clinton-Kerry-Clinton Connection by Col. Bob Pappas, USMC, Ret.
The Clintons are on the Kerry bandwagon, or so it seems, after all, they and their former team are full swing on the Kerry campaign team or in support of it; there are Paul Begala, Joe Lockhart, and James Carville to name a few. Additionally, Ms. Clinton makes periodic statements supporting the erstwhile Senator; and, it is widely known that Mr. Clinton has had a number of lengthy conversations with Kerry in regards to his campaign. But, why?
It is widely assumed, if not known, that Ms. Clinton has Presidential aspirations and that those aspirations can only be fulfilled if she runs in 2008. So, despite all the overt support for the Kerry candidacy, she must have some angst when Kerry rises in the polls. After all, it is likely that while the Clintons are supporting Kerry, they (or at least Hillary), are hoping and working behind the scenes for his defeat in November so that Hillary can stride in as savior and reunify the Democrat Party for her assumed run in 2008. At least that is the likely scenario that Bill has presented to Hillary, or is he using her again?
In the meantime, Bill Clinton is in the catbird seat by supporting the Kerry candidacy, those long telephone calls probably included more than political advice for the candidate.
For years this writer has opined that Clinton aspires to become Secretary General of the United Nations. The reasons are obvious given Clintons attitude toward the UN as a body and his insatiable desire for self aggrandizement. i.e. The only man in US history to be Governor, President, and Secretary General of the UN. Hows that for a legacy that would at least partially overcome an intern under his desk, her semen stained dress, lies to the American public, disbarment and impeachment? (Only a truly sick mind can turn Clinton into a great President.) But, ah, what a great economy, so just imagine what he could do with the Global Economy at the UN.
All one has to do is recall the $500 million that Clinton spent on international trips during his second term to conclude that he was laying the groundwork for his run for Secretary General. Realistically, the only way he has a chance is for John Kerry or Hillary to do so. In the writers opinion the Clinton/Kerry telephone connection, in addition to praising one another for their common Vietnam betrayal, was to cement a deal that in exchange for Clintons support for the Kerry candidacy, Kerry would appoint Clinton as a UN delegate and thereafter support his election as Secretary General.
So, whether Kerry wins in 2004 or Hillary in 2008, for those who worship at the UN and Clinton Altar, Clintons calculation is likely that one way or the other he has a shot of becoming Secretary General; that is, unless GW so eviscerates the UN in the meantime that it is dead or an empty shell; or, surprise of all surprises, JEB or Rudi, or both are elected in 2008.
Some, perhaps all Democrats would love to see the US completely subordinate and subordinated to the UN, but no patriotic American would.
Assuming that Kerry is defeated, which he will be, Clinton has set himself up so that he will have two shots at Secretary General assuming that Hillary runs and wins; the latter is a big assumption, but it could happen. Well see how the movie ends.

Well, we know the Clintons are ONLY for the Clintons. They will position themselves so as to be winners in this deal no matter what. And if they overtly came out against the Kerry campaign it would look self-serving and prevent them from accepting cushy positions on the event--which we MUST prevent!!!--that he is elected (it is hard to even type that!!)
BECAUSE. If he wins, she is again PRESIDENT. Kerry and Edwards have no idea what to do as President, nor the inclination to accomplish anything but attain fame and fortune for themselves. That means Hillary can work undercover from her job as SENATOR to really run the country.
x42i can't be Sec. Gen. of the UN.
Slick to UN Secretary General? I think that I read on another thread that no citizen of a permanent member of the Security Council (US, Russia, Britain, France & PRC) can become SecGeneral of the UN. It's supposed to be in the UN Charter.
If there is anyway they can do it with out their fingerprints all over it, you bet they will. Their egos and ambition trumps everyone!! They will do anything, ANYTHING, to get back in the white house!!
I think it's custom, not written into the Charter. No-one seems able to find it in the Charter.
Running the UN includes renouncing US loyalty. Renouncing citizenship would be a mere formality.
No problem there. He could always become a citizen of say Iran.
Well, like I said, I just read that Slick couldn't be UN SecGen. Thanks for the clarification...
So Clinton will just renounce his American citizenship and seek residence elsewhere, or he'll exploit a loophole. You have to remember that rules, agreements, and bylaws don't mean a thing to Clinton. He and his wife has violated them since the late seventies.
Could it be that Bill Clinton wants to be the leader of One World Government?
"Clinton-Kerry-Clinton"
Ew. A Kerry sandwich.
DUH
Then where would that leave Hilary? She's not gonna take a backseat to "Bubba" again, you can just bet on it.
This is Clinton we're talking about here....he trashed a more sacred document, the Constitution, which makes the UN Chater look like a post-it note. However, I feel that it's high time for a Congresscritter to introduce a bill banning any former elected official, state or federal, from serving in a foreign governmental position or role.
Sorry..I lost my head there, for a minute.
