Fox News Watch--What did they just say about Carl Cameron?
Fox News Watch

Posted on 10/09/2004 4:12:19 PM PDT by spitlana

I looked for a thread on Fox News Watch, and didn't find one. Was anyone watching? At the end of the show, they mentioned Carl Cameron being accused by the Kerry campaign of being biased. Something about inadvertantly posting an email on his website regarding Kerry's manicure prior to the first debate. I may not have heard it right--does anyone know anything about this?

Wendell G travels with the Bush campaign and reports for them. The You Decided 2004 segment of each FoxNews broadcast goes from one to the other, each having the same amount of time to give info on the particular candidate/campaign. Unlike so many I've watched on other stations, there seems to be no personal attitudes inserted into the reports by them.

IMO, FoxNews is fair and balanced in that they present both sides, bring in speakers for both sides, and let them speak and let us decide. I wonder if the complaints against them being 'too left' aren't because what some want is a conservative biased program to 'balance' the liberal biased programs.

I'm happy with Fox. I am one who wants the information from both sides. I will make my own usual conservative decision, but do give me the information being thrown out by all sides.

Well, Fred Barnes on the Beltway Boys ate some crow over his comments last night said he read transcript and re-watched debate at home, alone and saw it much differently.

I was relatively happy with Fox, also, until last night when, after the debate, the panel had the most left-slanted opinions I've ever heard on that channel. I finally changed the channel to MSNBC in disgust and watched Chris Matthews, who was being much more objective in his analysis. Who would've thought??!

This is good to know. I was so p*ssed at Fox last night, I refused to watch any of it today. I don't know just what their problem is but part of the solution needs to be getting rid of Kristol. Juan and Mora are transparent fools, but necessary, I guess. Kristol is pathetic.

Well, I was speaking about reporting, not opinion. I do not watch pundits' analyses of debates nor polls. I am my own pundit, I am my own poll. President Bush won the first debate and the second debate. Style has nothing to do with it, unless you let yourself be swayed by some visual thing. When I can, I do not watch debates, I listen. You'd be surprised how much you can tell who is lying and who is not when you can't see the person and have your emotions swayed by style, rather than your reason convinced by substance.

Kristol was very pro Bush until last night. But he's made sharp left turns at the most unexpected times before--so no surprise there. Fred Barnes disappointed me last night, but today on Beltway he admitted he needed to take a second look at who won the debate. Good for him.

So does this mean that Kerry ISN'T a metrosexual and that he DIDN'T get a manicure?

The story may be a fake but the charges are true. What about it, Kerry? Why are you such a giley-man?

I wish there were more people like you, Ruth. Unfortunately, a lot of people are swayed by other people's opinions and analyses, and even though it's an opinion-based format, many people (I hope it's fewer than I imagine) are swayed by that and wait to hear what the pundits say before making up their minds.

I'm hoping there are more independent thinkers out there, but when I hear that 51% of young people believe that Bush wants to bring back the draft in spite of the facts, I worry that there aren't ENOUGH independent thinkers.

*** Cameron wrote a fake article which was accidently published for a brief time on the FOX News website claiming that Kerry was a "metrosexual" and more concerned about his manicure then the debate. ***

where's the fake part?

FOX has been trying to make up for the slip all week. They have been bending over backward to be harder on Bush than Kerry.

Me too. I wrote them a very ugly email today...addressed to Brit Hume. Told him Fox was now on a count down 1 2 3 your out. And they are now between 2 & 3. Told him the conversative base made them the big boys on the block and we can also unmake them. HEADS UP!!! FoxNews!!!

Did he say why he was so off originally?

I watched Chris Matthews because of their comments last night. Only turned the channel back when Sean came on.

If Fox makes Cameron a sacrificial lamb for Kerry and the Dems, that's it. They become classified as one of the "MSM". Cameron wrote a humor piece that wasn't meant to be posted. Rather deliberately conspired with the DNC to destroy the president of the United staes with fraudulent documents. No comparison.

But, if it SHOULD happen, I'm going to start to lobby to have Cameron perform PR for the Bush W.H. I bet he'll LOVE the opportunity to turn the tables on ALL the press that turned on him then.

I didn't hear that. Watch Fox news move even further left.

I'm so sick of Fox about now.........that I stopped watching them this afternoon. Every damn poll they talked about had FnKerry ahead of Bush and we all know that our President wiped the floor with that idiot last night.

I'm sick of it.

Very well stated. From the beginning, Fox News has stated their intent to be fair and balanced. Initially, we were all in "collective euphoria" simply to see ANY view from the right. Because we certainly hadn't seen anything like that from the other cable news networks.

I think it is OUR expectations that Fox will cater ONLY to the right that is disappointing to many. Just my opinion.
