233 members of Congress have visited the troops in Iraq so far.

One hundred ninety-one were House members:
121 Republicans, and 70 Democrats.
Forty-two were senators: 24 Republicans and 18 Dems.
Eight senators have made two trips, and one has made three.

Neither Kerry nor Edwards has taken time away from manicures, hairstyling appointments, and campaign stops
to talk to the men and women who are putting their lives on the line in Iraq
and to see the facts on the ground.

That's leadership for you.

I think that when Kerry was for the war, he'd get on the plane to visit the troops. Then once inside the plane, he was against the war and deplaned. I would think he'd be rather dizzy at the end of it. Just a theory.

I know how cynical and hard this makes me sound, Tonk, but how come I'm not suprised?

Don't need to. They already know all they want to know.

Read what Kerry said in 1971 before the senate and you will know why he didn't go....

you read carefully the President’s last speech to the people of this country, you can see that he says, and says clearly:

But the issue, gentlemen, the issue is communism, and the question is whether or not we will leave that country to the Communists or whether or not we will try to give it hope to be a free people.(sounds like Bush doesn't it?)

But the point is they are not a free people now under us. They are not a free people, and we cannot fight communism all over the world, and I think we should have learned that lesson by now.

Don't forget, Bush made a surprise visit there, too.

This needs to get to the Bush campaign IMMEDIATELY. This could destroy the Kerry campaign in the next debate!!!!

They don't have to go. According to them everyone knows Iraq is a mess, because they can see it on TV.

"Kerry and Edwards have never been to Iraq."

True, but they did spend the night at a Holiday Inn in Boston, Mass one time.

I think Kerry actually SAID he went to Iraq. I don't remember when he said it. But that would be a good quote to have, then debunk it with the facts.

Then do the same with his Christmas in Cambodia statement.

This would be a great way of showing why his behavior after Vietnam is relevant: a liar and traitor then, a liar and traitor now.

I've been saying this for a while now. Kerry claimed in Fridays debate that he "visited the kids at Walter Reed earlier that day". THAT'S A LIE. He arrived in St. Louis the night before and if he was there their would be stories about the chilly reception he would no doubt receive.

I have been waiting to see if he would visit our wounded at Walter Reed or Bethesda Naval Hospital, and so far, I have read story about him visiting Walter Reed, but there is no pictures of him being their that I could find.

Kerry might have been to Walter Reed, but I seriously doubt he ever met with any of our wounded in either hospital. I say this because I have been there several times and have actually asked if Kerry ever paid a visit. Every answer was NO

While Edwards and Kerry should make a visit to Iraq, it is my belief that it will only make them look desperate for the military votes. I would't want them going there bad mouthing Bush to our troops. There also is the probability of some of the troops who absolutely disagree with this war and the President to take it upon themselves to express their anger to Edwards and Kerry. Which will only give Kerry and Edwards ammunition against Bush. So, I actually like the idea of them not going. If you think about it, whether they go or not it makes them look bad regardless. If they go, they look desperate for the military votes, if they don't go it makes them look absolutely unconcerned about the troops.

Yeah, and how many times has Kedwards accused Bush of not knowing what is going on over there. He even accused Allawi of lying about the conditions in Iraq. What a politican! We don't need a politician now - you fool our country is in danger. By Gosh we need someone with a backbone and that will take the time to GO see the troops. Every time I read something like this about that idiot I just want to weep for our country. There are actually as many people for him as for Bush.
