Kerry Supporters Take Over Beer Fest
10/10/2004 | Self

I volunteered at the Capitol City brewpub's Oktoberfest Saturday, in Alexandria, Virginia, one of the biggest of its kind in the mid-atlantic, and there were Kerry supporters everywhere. The Dems had a stand there and were handing out buttons and stickers by the hundreds. It seems like half the crowd had Kerry stickers on....due to sauvy agressive campaigning. No Republican stand, not a single Bush sticker in sight--as no one was handing them out (and like the Kerry supporters in the crowd) no one had actually planned to bring campaign stuff... So since the campaign wasn't there, us Republicans missed the ball.

Honestly it was kinda scary, being in Virginia (where Kerry will be trounced, according to all polls and history) seeing literally thousands of supporters (way too many good looking women too). As a volunteer at the fest (hey there is such a thing as free beer...) I didn't think it was proper for me to bring and wear campaign stuff myself (and I don't have any buttons or stickers--the campaign hasn't given me any)but it was just sickening to see how effective the Kerry folks were being.

Campaigners! Go to ALL major gatherings!!!! This event had 20,000+ people in it, and ONLY the Democrat campaign was there. I'm sure amoung the beer drinking crowd MANY were Republicans and Bush supporters, but no one, NOT ONE, could be seen.

I was at a football game in a swing state attended by 5x as many people. Fear not, both campaigns were out in force.

Same thing happened at the Portland Race for the Cure. The Kerry folks (whose office was only a couple blocks away from the waterfront) showed up with balloons, stickers, and whatnot. No Bush campaign reps anywhere in sight.

It just pissed me off, though, to see them trying to politicize a charitable event.

Could have been members of ACT -- Soros gave them 10million dollars and they are blanketing the country with paid activists...

I used to live about a half mile from that place. It's crawling with yuppie liberals who drive SUVs and send their kids to private schools. They don't call it The People's Republic of Alexandria for nothing. They vote for Jim Moran, what else do you need to know they are morons. One of the big reasons I left.

Bush will carry Virginia.

Sorry to hear about that. My experience was more pleasant today. I took a motorcycle ride through the farmlands north of Sacramento, CA, and all I saw were huge, HUGE, Bush Cheney signs, and not a mark on them.

God bless the California farmers.

You ought to see the signs in the farmfields coming north of Bakersfield, you would think that California is solid Republican!

But, alas, then there are the cities filled with communists. Oh well :(

You should happy about this. All these kerry workers could have gone up to Pennsylvania, where they at least would have had a chance to change the numbers.

Last Saturday WLS Radio held a 80th Anniversary "on-the air" radio party at a large theater in Chicago. Rush Limbaugh even flew in and did a live 30 minute speech. It was the perfect venue for the Republican Party to have a table set up to hand out Bush stickers, etc. Nothing! I was there, looked for Bush campaign material, and left empty handed. Very disturbing.

Well, that was a missed opportunity by the Republicans. But not the end of the world.

On the other hand, I worked the Republican booth at our county fair out here in rural MN a few weeks back, and there WAS a Dem booth, but they weren't having much success. We gave most everybody that walked by a Bush-Cheney '04 sticker as they walked by, and I'm sure the Dems were trying the same thing on their end of the hall.

Bush stickers outnumbered Kerry stickers 15-to-one on the fairgoers out walking around.

Same in this area. The Socialist Democrats are pulling out all the stops - and the other side hasn't even bothered to show up -

Guess you can't win them all - I'm just hoping that people have already made the decision to vote for President Bush over Kerry and all this effort by the Socialist is wasted money -

It's the same way here in Oregon and Washington. The communists populate a few cities near the coast and overpower 90% of the state.

I think it was Jefferson who warned of the corruption emanating from big cities. Please correct me if I'm wrong about which of our Founders it was with that warning.

Anywhere outside of Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax, Charlottesville, or Richmond. The rest of the Commonwealth is very conservative. The Shenandoah Valley is especially beautiful, one of God's true materpieces.

Today I was helping my wife set up an event in a rented meeting room of a local hotel. She owns a home-based business and had booked the meeting room for the whole day. When we got to the hotel I saw a large van parked in the handicapped spot which had a lot of Union, Democrat, and Kerry/Edwards stickers. A sign on the front window designated the driver as a representative for AFGE - the government employee union. The interior was a mess - someone's legal paperwork for a Chapter 11 was sitting in plain view on the dashboard, the windows were cracked open enough I could have reached in and taken the legal stuff. Of course, I didn't.

When we got inside, arms loaded with boxes of stuff to set up, we walked into the meeting room and it was full of damned Democrats. The worst sort - UNION Democrats. They were just breaking out a fried chicken lunch. All wore T-shirts, pins, stickers, hats about Kerry, Edwards, and other scum.

As I checked with the front desk about a possible scheduling conflict, and they showed me that yes, in fact, we were the only ones on the schedule for the room, my mother-in-law for some stupid reason told the scum that they could stay until the event was to start and that they were welcome to attend if they wished.

I was having none of that. I remembered that it was union Democrat scum that bullied there way in and invaded a number of GOP HQs nationwide. I remembered that it was union Democrat subhumans who ripped up the three-year-old girl's Bush/Cheney sign and laughed about it. I remembered that it was union Democrat vermin who attacked Don Adams who was protesting Clinton. I saw red for a moment as I carried my next load of boxes into the room.

The red subsided and I calmly said, "You all are going to have to take it out to the lobby." They responded with "But...but...but..." The motioned toward the lobby with my thumb and left for the next load of boxes.

When I came back with the next load they were grumbling loudly and packing up their lunch to move out of the room. To hurry them along I grabbed two of their grocery bags and handed it to the nearest Rat. He snatched them angrily out of my hands and stomped off.

The hotel staff unlocked the closed restaurant and let the rats eat their meals in there. I guess they weren't expecting an inpsection from the health department today as they let filthy vermin into the restaurant to gnaw on chicken bones and flap their gums about spreading socialism throughout America while undermining the war effort and getting our soldiers killed.

The hotel staff came out of the restaurant to the front desk and I overheard them saying that the scumbags were angry about being moved. That they would never rent a meeting room there again. And that they were considering not paying their bill. They panicked and felt that they had to call their manager.

I kept hauling boxes and stuff. About 5 minutes later the manager showed up. They explained the situation to her. She was not sympathetic as she too saw that the Democrats were not on the schedule. I had to leave then so I don't know what happened. When I returned an hour later all evidence of the vermin - except their stench and some grease stains where they wiped their grubby paws on the tablecloth - was gone.

Later, I hit opensecrets.org and checked the contribution record of the hotel manager. 100^% of her donations have gone to Republicans. Woot! The Democrats were history and my wife made a decent profit.

As far as Illinois, I see nothing being done by the Republicans. Missed opportunity, as the suburbs all have Bush/Cheney signs everywhere. Be sure to read this about SOROS!

Has a single vote ever been won with a campaign sticker or button?

"Hmmm, I WAS gonna vote for W because I agree with him on the issues, but look at all these pretty Kerry stickers! I'm voting for John Kerry!"

I feel your pain. :o(

I am a transplant from the Great State of OHIO. I graduated from OSU in 1980 ... having my first voting experience wizzed-on with the Carteretards ... but I got back at 'em with my hero Ronnie!

I remember TA's and their grubby exteriors shouting about "Ronnie Ray-Gun." (SDI reference and a play on his great name). My skin crawled then, as it does now with the real threat of John F'n sKerry.

California is turning toward the light. Beige Davis was flushed, and a man who can resurrect the word "Republican" is now callin' the shots. We will retake this state from the shallow and the confused!
