Here it is. I'm watching Hardball at the moment. Nicolle Devenish is doing a good job speaking for Bush, as always
Rocky River?
Excellent prayer! I repeated it aloud to myself.
The President needs to say "It's not enough to say he has a plan. This is a debate. I'm telling you what I'll do, and he's not. I begin to wonder if he even knows what his plan is."
That plan will never work...it's a recipe for disaster.
;O)
I'm Here.
Am I on the debate thread? or the pre debate thread? or the pre pre deabte thread?
Or the pre pre pre debate thread? L0L
May God be with our President tonight.
I do agree with you, Lawgirl. Complacency is why Bush did so poorly in the first debate, I think. He just thought he had the election in the bag and didn't rest up or prepare enough. Look what that got us, lower poll numbers. Ultimately, the only one who can do well in the debate is Bush....but if he doesn't do the wonderful job that we all know he's capable of, then we have to just accept that and work a little harder.
There's a difference between worrying and criticizing...I want on the optimists thread:)
Better make that 6, got your content vs style differential to factor in with each of the 3 options you mentioned.
I don't think I'm watching either. I would rather read what you guys have to say. I'm also very nervous. I'm praying for our president. Let Bush keep his foot on Kerry's throat all night!
All I need to know about this election, I learned from the incredibly close squeaker of an election in Australia (where the pro-Bush guy won in a landslide).
On public forums, wringing hands does not contribute anything but giving ammunition to the left and the media.
People should not blurt out their first reactions just to vent. This is not helpful.
As an aside, what point is it to say he lost? You will notice that even though most of us thought Bush won the second debate, the democrats aren't being objective and honest. They are saying Kerry won. We need to do the same.
Objective and honest we can do after November 2. Right now we need to support the President.
I was jess tryin' fer a leetle funnin"
"Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit barbituates..."
Uh-huh.
Critisizing Bush the entire week HELPED Bush?
I think I'm living in a fairly realistic world and when the MSM bashes Bush, Hollywood bashes Bush, Dems bash Bush, and the world Bashes Bush-Our piling on HURTS Bush. It leaves NO voice speaking in favor of HIM.
Kerry camp claimed it a Draw Thursday night. By the next week it was the worst loss in the history of the world. Tell me conservatives didn't take an off night and help turn it into the loss of the century.
Blame Bush all you like, but conservatives deserve their share of the blame too.
well how many times woll Kerry mention "outsourcing" tonight?
Is that a drinking word?
Don't use that term with me. (I'm not going to repeat it)
There is a difference between carrying your candidate's message forward and complacency.
Alas, tonight I have no beer. Woe is me.
Outsourcing seems like a classic candidate for a drinking game.
If we had a balanced honest press corps in this country, Bush would have a 30% lead.
Complacency?? I am not so sure, how do you prepare for a debate when you opponent never sticks to one idea? Until Kerry was there on the debate floor, Bush did not know what position he would take. To me that would be impossible to prepare for. So between first debate nerves and too many positions to prepare for.....
well if the talking heads are an indication "outsourcing" will be a big word tonight.
Wow, I knew there were people somewhere in the world who have never gotten drunk, but I've never met them. LOL
I'm not watching.....The press is so pro-Kerry, and I'm starting to get a very bad feeling. The polls don't seem to be going in our favor, but I'm not sure if I believe them!
Yikes!!!!!
Mine loses the audio or jumps to another channel.
It's freaky.
Universuty = "University" Oops
So I have to censor my response because of what some aholes at DU might be saying? I don't think so. Somehow i doubt that anything I might say on this forum is going to give anyone anywhere ammunition.
The point to saying he lost is this (besides, gee, it's the TRUTH in the first debate): Hey everyone- get off your asses and start campaigning and praying for W. This is not going to be a walk into a second term. If you think he has it in the bag, he doesn't.
Look, I love W and anyone that knows anything on this forum can't debate that. But he lost the first debate. And if he loses tonight, I am not going to pretend he didn't.
Where is THEE Debate live thread?
>>Alas, tonight I have no beer. Woe is me. <<
Can I fax you a beer my FRiend?
Have you tried listening to the debates on the radio? I find it far more pleasant than watching it on TV.
I guess they don't realize that most RELIABLE polling organizations had Bush winning the second debate and even some of them say Bush won the first one as well.
I guess Dems are related to the ostrich after all as they both like to stick their heads in the sand and pretend nothing bad will happen to them!
Thanks for the pic. It's a good one.
Remember, Evan Thomas of Time? magazine came out months ago and said that media bias would be worth 10-15 points - in this close of a race that's about impossible to fight. BUT fight we will cause we are not whiny dems.
Did you see where Kerry insulted the Italians again! The man does not know when to keep his mouth shut
And what about the flip floppers? Guess they'll have to be on all 3 threads!
Sending up many prayers for our President and our country. We MUST WIN this election!
The harder the MSM pushes, the more it means that W is ahead..take everything with a grain of salt the size of the iceberg that sank the Titabic..and , dare I say it.."COURAGE"..or would you "rather " I didn't....(G)
The phone lines give it a metallic aftertaste. Thanks though.
Yup. FLA is very important
I'm hoping Rove and company have been mum on Kerry's 30 years in the Senate because they are saving it as ammo for tonight's debate. The record of the 'most liberal senator' should be hammered in the minds of the voters.
Kerry should be cautious ...screaming outsourcing.
He voted for it.
He wants to outsource medicine to Canada....even when some of that medicine from Cananda may not be safe.
AND WHEN IT COMES TO NATIONAL SECURITY....HE WANTS TO OUTSOURCE THAT TOO!
I think this is it for the moment ABP
LOL! Funny!
You know, those were really good. They should become part of the FR lexicon. I mean it as an honorreally! :o)
I think FR won't let a live debate thread start until the debate actually starts. That's what happened Friday night.
I have to watch the replay. I work till 7pm and I am in Arizona just about 5 miles to the east of The Gammage where the debate is being held. So that means I won't get home till probably 8-830. Glad Cspan reruns them sans the talking heads.
Over Macho Grande?
That's just wrong. The Bush campaign has said for months and months this race was going to be close. Complacency is the last thing I would accuse the President of.
