Nearly 20 years ago I was talking to a guy from our church who used to be in Army Intelligence and was an expert on the Middle East. I mentioned something about Arafat's vow to not marry until the Palestinians had their own country. This guy laughed and told me that it was well known amongst his former colleagues that Arafat was gay and they even knew what type of man he was drawn to. I was shocked, but he assured me that it was true and that Arab/Muslim leaders turn a blind eye to Arafat's homosexuality as he serves their political purposes.
Several years later I got to know a couple of young Muslims who were from West Africa and had been converted to Christianity. They had lived in Egypt for many years and traveled to other Arab countries. They had a lot to say about the rampant homosexuality so I threw this idea out to them about Arafat being gay and they said it's very likely.
Those who are amused about this should post when they are diagnosed with a terminal disease so the public can have just as much fun enjoying their misfortune.

"After the meeting with the Comrade, he went directly to the guest house and had dinner. At this very moment, the 'Fedayee' is in his bedroom making love to his bodyguard. The one I knew was his latest lover. He's playing tiger again. The officer monitoring his microphones connected me live with the bedroom, and the squawling almost broke my eardrums. Arafat was roaring like a tiger, and his lover yelping like a hyena."
Munteaunu continued: "I've never before seen so much cleverness, blood and filth all together in one man."
Munteaunu, wrote Pacepa, spent months pulling together secret reports from Egyptian, Jordanian and Syrian intelligence agencies as well as Romanian files.
"I used to think I knew just about everything there was to know about Rahman al-Qudwa," Arafat's real name, "about the construction engineer who made a fortune in Kuwait, about the passionate collector of racing cars, about Abu Amman," Arafat's nom de guerre, "and about my friend Yasser, with all his hysterics," explained Munteaunu, handing Pacepa his final report on the PLO leader. "But I've got to admit that I didn't really know anything about him."
Wrote Pacepa: "The report was indeed an incredible account of fanaticism, of devotion to his cause, of tangled oriental political maneuvers, of lies, of embezzled PLO funds deposited in Swiss banks, and of homosexual relationships, beginning with his teacher when he was a teen-ager and ending with his current bodyguards. After reading the report, I felt a compulsion to take a shower whenever I had been kissed by Arafat, or even just shaken his hand."

For instance, if you raise children, you have to teach them that there are consequences for bad behavior. Then what merit is there in doing good, if your misbehavior doesn't result in any punishment and you a just allowed to get away with it?
You are not judging the person, just the behavior. I would LOVE to see bin-Laden (if he's still alive) making a conversion to Christianity, but sometimes God has to mete out punishment to set someone on the right path FIRST. Look at St Paul.

Why is it ridiculous? Muslims are known for their indulgence in homosexuality (well, for men only). Only the - er - passive partner is considered homosexual, btw.
A friend who had to train jointly with the Saudis said that the men were busy ogling and joking about the teenage houseboys the way an American man would look at a cute young waitress or bartender.
