my email was ladylike and nice and shocked and dismayed. And asked for a front page retraction. It was bliss to write it. And more bliss to imagine Kerry with egg on his face.

'I'm way past tired of F'n blathering about restoring America's respect in the world. The last thing I care about is what the French and Germans think of this country. '

Let me get this straight.

France and Germany and Russia were selling weapons to Iraq right up to the week that we invaded.

The three countries were blocking all our attempts to invade as a coalition.

The three countries and sKerry insisted that the UN could safeguard the weapons already identified.

The weapons were already gone (to Syria) before we got there.

sKerry, France and Germany today called GWB incompetent for not safeguarding the weapons.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its time for Rove, Bush et. al. to take the gloves off and not only come out swinging against Kerry, but the NYT as well. Bush simply cannot wait for this story to be de-bunked by the MSM or even the New Media. Bush has to take Kerry to task ASAP on the campaign trail and make this incident part of his stump speech.

For example, say something to the effect that: Senator Kerry can't wait to declare American failure in Iraq. Even today, my opponent was claiming that my administration was incompetent because of the failure to prevent the dissapearance of high explosives from an Iraqi weapons site. Yet, as it turns out, the weapons stored at this site had dissapeared before our brave young men and women in arms ever invaded Iraq. It seems that Mr. Kerry and some in the media will go to any lengths to declare our efforts a failure.

Putting that aside, however, I find it incredible that Mr. Kerry is now so interested in securing weapons in Iraq that pose a danger to the United States. I could not agree more with the Senator that this was and remains a priority. Indeed, at one point the Senator agreed with me on this issuse. Sadly, just days ago Mr. Kerry indicated that he has changed his mind. According to the Senator, Iraq posed no danger to the United States. I know this has been a long campaign, but I sure do wish the Senator would make up his mind.

Oh, he can try....but I'm sure the record shows him as one of the loudest voices in the "Pander to the U.N." crowd, at time.

The fact that it is out there is all that the new media including Free Republic and Talk Radio and bloggers to take it from here. An interesting thing I noticed from the Drudge Radio thread last night. I didn't hear the show but somebody commented that Matt said he thinks the Bush team leaked the story to the NY Times. If so, it appears that Bush once again set up the MSM to trip over their own Bush hatred and go with their half-assed story. If so, this is brilliant.

I am confused! We have an NBC report that the explosives supposedly "lost by Bush" were already gone by the time we first got to Al Qaqaa. But we have an AP report from earlier in the day that a Pentagon official confirmed that "U.S.-led coalition troops had searched Al-Qaqaa in the immediate aftermath of the March 2003 invasion and confirmed that the explosives, under IAEA seal since 1991, were intact. Thereafter, the site was not secured by U.S. forces, the official said, also speaking on condition of anonymity."

Are we now SURE the weapons were gone from Al QaQaa when we got there? Or do we just have two conflicting reports?

In their desperation to elect Kerry, the MSM may have overplayed their hand. That can't get away with the usual stunts these days. Not with the internet breathing down their necks.

I think this story was the final DNC October Surprise, and they were forced to release this early because of the rumour on the weekend that a huge story would be in the Wash. Times on Monday.

The United Nations -- John Kerry's favorite organization -- was in charge of this and they JUST TOLD US ABOUT THIS ABOUT TEN DAYS AGO!

No surprise, Koffi is Saddam's boy; on the food for oil graft.

I hope Rove & Hughes are reading FR! Great job on what Bush should be saying this week.

heard today on Fox....

In Washington, Democratic presidential hopeful John Kerry's campaign said the Bush administration "must answer for what may be the most grave and catastrophic mistake in a tragic series of blunders in Iraq."

"How did they fail to secure ... tons of known, deadly explosives despite clear warnings from the International Atomic Energy Agency to do so?" senior Kerry adviser Joe Lockhart (search) said in a statement.

Tip to Joe and Elmer Fudd, "Check that sound....it's a avalanche!

'I love the MSM. They try so hard to bring down Bush with faulty memos, intel, etc. and then it BACKFIRES on them destroying their credibility!'

Karl Rove first planted the story.

Then he let sKerry and the MSM run with it.

Now, GWB will quietly come out and state that he knew while the traitorous countries were blocking us from action, that the WMD was being moved out of the country. That he, as President, had to act.

Let Colin Powell bring out his maps again. Show video of the stuff in the Bekka Valley. Show American soldiers in Lebanon guarding the stash.

The End.

I think the 'official' rebuttal will come from the Pentagon - they will refer the media to the NBC embeds for backup.

'I've been pondering -- in trying to smear Bush, didn't the NYT completely backtrack on the liberal canard that THERE WERE NO DANGEROUS WEAPONS IN IRAQ?'

yep - they said it was VERY bad stuff.

now, it will be only kind of bad stuff.

We have a guy who was there saying the stockpiles were empty. And then, we have some anonymous Pentagon official who could be a Clinton hack holdover for all we know.

On the Fox roundtable they mentioned today that there are some D.C. bureaucrats (ostensibly libs) who are leaking things in an attempt to hurt Bush...
