It's a tired phrase, but . . . "Who are you going to believe? Me, or your lying eyes?" We have video, so Fifi Lockhart is in a bit of a pickle.

Anyone got RORY SUCHET's email at CNN Radio - They just reported the phony story AGAIN on the 11 PM Eastern Time newscast over all of their affiliates (during the Hannity rebroadcast on 96.9 FM Talk in Boston!)

Yeah maybe Zell Miller is lurking around the NYTimes building in midtown. That'd be a hoot.

This has to be killing the Dems. They thought the magic bullet was the MSM reporting and showing no weapons at these suspected sites as our troops advanced deeper and deeper into Iraq. As it turns out, that bullet has come right around to hit them in the arse.

Can't have it both ways. In effect the Dems are sayinging "There were no dangerous weapons and Bush failed to secure them."

Why I am not surprised at the depths the MSM will sink to in an attempt to make Kerry look good.

'Can't have it both ways. In effect the Dems are sayinging "There were no dangerous weapons and Bush failed to secure them."'

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Make that 'three ways"...
'"There were no dangerous weapons, and Bush failed to secure them, then tricked us into complaining about it".
Good evening.
I know it's true but, in a way, I hope this doesn't turn out to be related to Oil For Food. We are approaching a point where we have to start looking at the UN as an enemy alliance. It looks like the deck is about to get shuffled and I'm hoping the game isn't 52 pick up.
Why is MSNBC still running the original NYT story, accompanied by Kerry's bashing of the Pres as incompetent.This is at 1130 EDT and this new take on the story was posted here at 10:11 EDT. Did NBC actually report the fact that the Times was wrong or did Drudge find a report that had been filed by the embedded crew 18 months ago which reported the explosives missing? It seems too weird for MSNBC to be runninng a story and its resulting features while the parent company has debunked it.
Thank you I was wondering whether anyone else heard Rush today.
I also heard him talk about it several months ago. I'm not sure when. He went on and on, at that time, about parts that could be used to make nuclear devices and he stated those opposed to the Iraq War said there was nothing in Iraq that could possibly be used to make nuclear devices.
These aren't his exact words but the meaning is the same.
I keep saying that the most dangerious job in the world is a backhoe operator in Iraq. Some poor SOB is going to be digging a hole out in the dessert one of these days and find the WMD's. Whatever they find left of him is going to glow in the dark for long, long time. The weapons are there somewhere,(unless they were moved to Iran or Syria) and when we do find them they are all going to have “Made in France” labels on them.
In Texas we can sum up Kerry's Campaign with one word:
It keeps getting Deeper
Exactly. I bet that's who leaked it to the NYT.
Agree. Probably figured the MSM would consistently omit this detail and John Q Public would never hear who was paid to be incompetent and obstructionist.
Thank God for this newsbreak.
That bears repeating Flip:
In effect the Dems are saying: "There were no dangerous weapons and Bush failed to secure them."
Or, as an email from the Bush campaign to Drudge mocks, it's as if the Rats are now saying: "Bush should have gone into Iraq sooner". LOL
CNN is yakking right now (rerun) how terrible a lapse of judgement it was - even Peggy Noonan is dismayed.
I had the TV on all day and 6 P.M. is the FIRST time I heard anybody mention that the UN told us about this just ten days ago.
Looks like the Kerry campaign is gonna ride this titanic lie down a ways before giving up.
Yep, I hope it is a sign of Frenchurian campaign desperation that they grabbed this too quickly, before timeline research.
Addition to Drudge's developing story....
The TIMES left the impression the weapons site had been looted since Iraq has been under US control.
[In a fresh Page One story set for Tuesday on the matter, the TIMES once again omits any reference to troops not finding any explosives at the site when they arrived in April of 2003. Attempts to reach managing editor Jill Abramson late Monday were unsuccessful.]
"The U.S. Army was at the site one day after the liberation and the weapons were already gone," a top Republican blasted from Washington late Monday.
The International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors last saw the explosives in January 2003 when they took an inventory and placed fresh seals on the bunkers.
Dem vp hopeful John Edwards blasted Bush for not securing the explosives: "It is reckless and irresponsible to fail to protect and safeguard one of the largest weapons sites in the country. And by either ignoring these mistakes or being clueless about them, George Bush has failed. He has failed as our commander in chief; he has failed as president."
A senior Bush official e-mailed DRUDGE late Monday: "Let me get this straight, are Mr. Kerry and Mr. Edwards now saying we did not go into Iraq soon enough? We should have invaded and liberated Iraq sooner?"
Top Kerry adviser Joe Lockhart fired back Monday night: "In a shameless attempt to cover up its failure to secure 380 tons of highly explosive material in Iraq, the White House is desperately flailing in an effort to escape blame. Instead of distorting John Kerry’s words, the Bush campaign is now falsely and deliberately twisting the reports of journalists. It is the latest pathetic excuse from an administration that never admits a mistake, no matter how disastrous."
Developing...
