POLL ROUNDUP
NRO: Kerryspot ^ | 10/27/04 | jim geraghty

Posted on 10/27/2004 3:16:46 PM PDT by MichelleWSC

The gist from RealClearPolitics today: Bush gains a point in the Washington Post tracking poll, but still trails by one point; Rasmussen's robots have Bush up 2, Zogby (urgh) has Bush up 1; TIPP has Bush up 4; ICR has Bush up 3.

Detroit News has Kerry up 1 in Michigan, and two polls show Bush up in Missouri, but maybe a little closer than Team Bush would prefer.

I am also informed that Susan Estrich recently said on Fox News that this evening CBS will release a poll showing Kerry up 6 in Florida. She reportedly added that the New York Times was afraid to go with their own poll yesterday but that CBS will go with it tonight. She also, according to a Fox watcher, said Democratic internal polls show Kerry up ever-so-slightly in Ohio and that Minnesota and Wisconsin were "trending toward Kerry".

I don't believe any of that stuff. Are we really supposed to believe that the New York Times wouldn't trust a poll showing bad news for Bush?

If they had to print the internals, maybe.

The polls from the New York times are skewed, due to the fact that they are the leftists bible.

My BS meter is on red alert. Since when did CBS do polling by state?

I don't believe it either but I was hoping to give people fair warning so the sky wouldn't come crashing down if this is true

Maybe Geraghty's reader got it wrong and Estrich was talking about the CBS/NYT national poll.

CBS, NBC, Fox, Harris (the real one) and Pew have not released poll results for over 10 days. They were doing weekly polls before.

What is up with that? 2 weeks ago we were swamped with polls, now we only get the daily trackers and an occaisional stragler.

I don't trust any of these polls. At least half of them are significantly wrong.

Yeah, FL is +6 for Kerry in a non-CBS poll run by no one but CBS.

And in other news NJ and Hawaii are in a dead heat, and Bush is leading in IA, WI, and knocking on the door in NM and MN.

Do these polls ever get audited by PwC or KPMG? How do we know that the numbers aren't just made up for the headlines when we get this close to election day?

Either way, it's BS. People who have followed Florida much more closely than CBS over the last few weeks are detecting no such thing.

CBS was the most off in 2000 of the top 16 pollsters I believe.

I have a theory that whoever polls this race right at the end will do it because of a fluke, but be considered a guru.

I do buy Tim Russert's take on Hannity today. Whoever wins, wins by less than 3 points, and it's anybody's guess.

I would love it if it were true. We'll see how much time Kerry spends in Florida over the next 2-3 days.

Speaking of Florida, anyone know what is ailing Joe Scarborough?

The NYT polls have been off, as long as I recall in this General Election.

Bush was up in Florida in both Republican and Democratic internal polls and that Kerry was going to give up Florida and make a furious last stand in Ohio and the Great Lakes area. I heard that with my own ears and Williams didn't have much of a rebuttal, so, let's hope that's true.

I heard a few Kerry ads on the radio today (Central Florida), so the fugly french poodle is still whoring for votes as of today.

You say, "What is up with that? 2 weeks ago we were swamped with polls, now we only get the daily trackers and an occasional straggler."

I suspect the MSM didn't like the results they were getting (ie., Bush leading) so stopped publishing the results.
