FLINT - Former Vice President Al Gore will encourage Democrats to continue working through Election Day in an "Every Vote Counts" rally Sunday.
It will be a return to familiar territory for Gore, who visited Genesee County three times in three months leading up to the 2000 election he lost to George Bush. He ended up beating Bush by 62-34 percent in Genesee County. This time, Gore is campaigning on behalf of Democratic presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry, who has come to Genesee County once this year, in February, before the Michigan Democratic caucus.
The public is invited to the free event at Flint Southwestern Academy. No tickets are necessary.

1 million disenfranchised voters in Florida would have given Al Gore a 58%-39% victory in 2000.. Just like all the polls back then indicated!!!!!
Oh wait no, the polls had it a deadheat.
Nevermind
Sounds like they aren't too worried about crowd control for Albert. He'll be dragging himself in from Hawaii, so it increases our already excellent chances to hear him say something completely insane. Don't let us down, Fat Albert.
Interesting that neither Kerry or Edwards are making any stops there the last few days of the campaign while Bush and Cheney will be going there. I guess Kerry is just too busy putting out all of the brush fires in OH,IA,WI that he doesn't have time to save Hawaii or MI.
Kerry shipped BigGayAl and one of the Kerry daughters to Hawaii - I'm sure the folks there were thrilled (not!) with those two dolts.
hah! I think he meant to say, every time you vote, I want it counted!
What is Gore up to? If Kerry loses, there could be a three-way competition for the 2008 nomination: Kerry, Gore, AND Hillary. Gosh, even Joe Biden might try to enter to "broker" the fray.
I may be that Albert Arnold Gore, Jr., will never be able to accept the fact that he won the "popular" vote but lost the electoral vote by five in 2000. Of course, the Constitution does not even use the term "popular vote."
big gay al...lmao
I can't imagine Kerry, Gore, Biden or any Democrat who values his life and/or political future daring to contest the Hildebeaste in 2008.
any Democrat who values his life
Good point, I guessed that I had forgotten how closed off is the Democrat nomination for 2008.
I like the part where Al's face turns purple and spittle rolls down his chin. Can someone get a picture of that, or will he be wearing Depends around his face?
Perhaps those were absorbant leis he was wearing in Hawaii, for that very purpose!
Duh! Algore? Every vote DID count unless a voter was too stupid to vote correctly! Give it a rest.........this is boooorrrrring!
Do you suppose Gore could be the Republicans' October Surprise? I mean, they suddenly release him on the public?
This is what I have to say about 'Spotted Al':
Guck 4.
Unfortunately, that's not true. Kerry's here on Monday in Detroit.
Bush needs to come back one more time - was here this morning, but one more visit might do it.
Former Vice President Al Gore, the 2000 Democratic presidential candidate, plans to attend church services and rallies in Grand Rapids, Lansing and Flint. Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., is to attend services at several churches in Detroit. [Lightning alert!] On Monday, Kerry plans to return to Michigan for a 3:30 p.m. rally at Hart Plaza in Detroit. Tickets are free, and available at Democratic Party sites around the state. link
Genesee County is the 2nd most dem county in the state.
p.m. bump
When does a man finally realize he has ZERO value to society?
Will he be greeted by confetti shower (made of ballot chads, of course?)
not to worry. al gore never read the constitution.
is that a rhetorical question?
This tells you how much Michigan is in play. Fat Albert hitting the black churches is hysterical - there should be some great photo clips out of this one - "HE PLAYED ON OUR FEARS!!!!!"
Kennedy holds no sway here other than to get the base out - they must be worried about the base for three reasons - Kerry has as much charisma as toast, Kerry supports stricter emission standards, which would cost 130,000 union jobs in Michigan and the weather ain't supposed to be great. Michigan democrats stay home in bad weather. Additionally, Proposal 2 - ban on gay marriage - enjoys huge black support - Bush getting 18% of black vote, as projected, will put Michigan in his column. Dems know this.
