I'm a New Englander who's all that and a gun owner. Do I get to be an honorary redneck?

As a native Alabamian, I hereby grant you honorary redneck status, pending review of your views on NASCAR and Moon Pies. :^)

It's all these backwards people deciding what is best for us (from a non citizen, BTW)

The ironic benefit of illegal immigration goes like this. You are a poor family man from the hinterlands of Mexico. You will work to survive. So, you will stoop to sneaking over the southern border in the dark of night so you can get paid for doing the work that someone else wants done.

Or, you are a middle class idealist from old Europe. You want to work because you were trained to be a professional, and told you are an elite who is better than others. (They tell you this in American colleges too that you are the cream of the crop -- you are the elite) You are too proud to sneak over the border, so you obtain a scarce but legal green card. You look down your nose at Republicans because your washed brain just doesn't get it that you trade your scarce time for what someone else wants, not what you wish.

I'm amazed at the number of Englishmen who think like this and hold great disdain at people who believe the individual is supreme.

I'm in entertainment and I've heard: "4 more years of oppression"

How about if we go easy on 'em and just focus on oppressing Barbra Streisand?

anyone see Ron Silver on MSNBC's coverage,

he said he knew for a fact there were people in Hollywood voting for Bush in secret, because of the stigma there vs conservatives, I know because one of my fav actors was blackballed because he espoused conservative views though compounded by the fact his idiot manager made a remark about Spielberg being a Nazi though in retrospect was he that wrong when conservatives in Hollywood are ostracized so they tend to keep their mouth shut, Mel Gibson is about as powerful as Spielberg so it doesn't matter to him.......

now Ron is a "9/11 Democrat" but he surmised this was going on all over the US, people were keeping their intent to vote for Bush quiet, which is why the pollsters were so wrong,he said I know for a fact people lie to pollsters & esp on exit polls (like it is anyone's business who you voted for, ballots are supposed to be secret and personal)

Ron went further and he said he knew certain Hollywood types who were even campaigning for Kerry and donating money to Kerry's campaign publicly but told him they were voting for Bush

My son is a freshman at Ohio State, and he was elated when Kerry conceded! He's been catching so much grief so far this year. You and he should trade war stories from the classrooms sometime.

Take a look at the breakdown between educated (states with Ivy Leaque schools Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Duke, Cornell, USC, etc, top ranked public schools, well traveled people, San Francisco, Seattle, New York City, Chicago, Boston, etc) and uneducated hicks (Utah, Idaho) etc. It's clear that the stupid voted for Bush. Your postings support this analysis. "

As a very pro-Bush conservative with a PhD I laugh at this analysis ... academics who hate real-world economics, American power, and the mainstream family values of america (ie lesbian professors, the legal community, leftwing academics, etc.) go for Kerry ...

BUT THOSE WITH INCOMES OVER $50,000 and WITH COLLEGE DEGREES OR ABOVE WENT MOSTLY FOR BUSH.

ie, the normal educated folk who got a degress then moved on to make a living in the "real world" are for Bush.
Those who stayed sheltered in academia, living off the govt dole (research grants and govt subsidized education) are for kerry.

figures.

I'm from Boston. Retired. Live in Florida.

Everyone I now in Boston, including my two grown daughters and their husbands voted for Bush.

Everyone in Massachusetts doesn't live in Cambridge, Somerville or Barney Frank's district.

Sad that the person who made the "electoral process could stand to be changed" comment didn't notice there IS a mandate - popular vote - what they wanted wouldn't have helped them this time either.

Be sure to mention to them that they are fortunate not to be citizens here and that they can leave at any time.

Then let them know that I'd be willing to help them pack.

Bwaaaahahahah...I just called my lefty brother and wanted to make sure he wasn't on suicide watch...I told him I finally like Kerry because he's FINALLY conceding.

He was too giddy for his own good yesterday because he thought the huge voter turnout in his precinct was for Kerry.Little did he know they were cancelling him out...I still love him though, maybe he'll drift to ourside soon.

Just ask your coworkers to name one thing liberals have done to help poor people.

One party captures most of the votes from the poor.
The other party captures most of the votes from educated prosperous people.
Guess which party works to keep their base of poor?
Guess which party works to move the poor to join their base of the educated and prosperous?

Oh, and, "Bush is going to melt the icecaps." Single women from major urban areas really shouldn't have the franchise. LOL ... now I can laugh about the horrible 'urban radio' ad from the Soros group that insinuated horrible things about Bush sending people to Iraq to die and kerry had a plan 'to bring our boys back' and saying a disproportionate number wer african americans and saying the money was diverted from health care ...the message: BUSH WILL KILL YOU. I was pretty shaken by how low they got, and gratified that it DID NOT WORK.

This from the people who were counting on the youth vote (Rock the Vote/Vote or Die). There is none so blind as those who cannot see their own ignorance.

Most here are disappointed but not surprised. They've all complained about the Bush War On Iraq since December 2000 (just after Bush was elected.) All support the Afghan War but none the Iraq war. They're split in opinons about domestic policy. I haven't said much.

Yes, I have had people refuse to answer who they'll vote for - i think they are republicans. Dems tend to be know-it-all obnoxious and pushy types who WANT to let you know how they fell and how YOU SHOULD FEEL too!

I don't understand why poor people (aka middle class people from Ohio) constantly vote republican".

We accept rednecks into the fraternity from all walks of life! However, you MUST accept the premise that no matter where a catfish chooses to live or what it chooses to eat, it's still good people food if properly prepared?
