California (Feinstein-D) - Feinstein is in her 70s and may retire, or she might run for governor. Possible opponents include Condoleezza Rice (R), Rep. Doug Ose, state Sen. Tom McClintock, Rep. Darrell Issa and Rep. George Radanovich.

Connecticut (Lieberman-D) - Lieberman will be 64 in election year. After losing his bid for the presidential nomination in 2004, he may call it quits. However, if he runs, he's safe.

What about Sen. Byrd? He's gotta be getting close to assuming room temperature.

Massachusetts (Kennedy-D) - Kennedy will be 75 come election year, and he may retire.

[Or his liver may finally give out.]

West Virginia (Byrd-D) - Byrd will be 88 years old in 2006 and may retire.

[Or he may simply give up the ghost before then.]

I hope it's McClintock or Issa in CA - I don't want to lose Condi in the executive branch!

And Lieberman is the one of the few Dems that I respect and wish nothing but the best for.

Disagree. Santorum is one of our toughest races.

Boss Rendell will be on the ballot for Governor in 06 and his machine will be out in force. It will likely be a very close race.

Me too. He is one of the few rational Dems out there. It is terrible the way he has been treated by his party since 2000. The way the DU crowd talks about him is disgusting.

By '06 Rendell isn't going to have a walk in the park for reelection. Santorum outpolled Bush in 2000 by the same margin that Gore did. I guess it all comes down to who he has as an opponent. Dems seldom put up good opposition for senate and I can't think of anyone right now that Santorum couldn't beat.

Cindi Rice WILL run for Feinstein's eat in 2006. She's a moderate black woman who can win easily in CA. What's even better is that the Governator is running for re-election in 2006, so Condi will basically be campaigning on his coattails.

I would vote for Tom McClintock in a heart beat but I'm afraid it will not be. Although he has run for US congress in the past McClintock has stated that he does not want to run for national office. I believe he wishes to follow Arnold into the governor's mansion.

Kennedy wants to break Strom's record. He will not retire.

(Dayton-D) - Sen. Dayton will likely run again.

MNGOP needs to find someone that can easily beat Dayton. Of course Sen. Chicken may have chopped off his own head by closing up his office in Washington, D.C.for the past couple of weeks.

There are lots of one term DemocRAT senators first elected in 2000 who could be vulnerable. If we knock off a few of them and gain their seat backs, Republicans could be looking at a 58+ seat majority.

Kennedy does not have the healthy habits Strom had.

They'll be replaced with young lefties. Maryland isn't going to elect a conservative Republican to the Senate. Perhaps Hawaii will trend more Republican in the future, but their next senator will also likely be a liberal DemocRAT.

In Florida, Bill Nelson (D) will be up for re-election in 06 as well. Would like to see JEB Bush run and win the seat.
