You mean to say that Oliver Stone actually made a BAD movie, No Way!
that's too bad, I was looking forward to it (even with reservations about any movie by stone), as I enjoy classical stories in movies. I liked Troy, despite (some fairly major) textual unfaithfulness...but then I realized that was my stupid initial gripe about the LotR movies too, and decided just to shut up and enjoy it :P
Whatever his politics are, his command of film making grammar and technique is considerable. He is very talented.
I'm cranky today! But this is no way to get my ya yas out. Only thing is, I got sick of tweaking the longhairs at jambands.com!
LOVE I Claudius. Watched it many times.
Did you see Kiren Chetre of Fox news decked out for halloween in that outfit?
WOw!!
ping!
A lot of folks thought it was going to be a serious historical epic, when they glossed over the siege of Troy in a matter of days..
"yeah but it has Angelina Jolie"
Those pancakes on her chest have been flipflopped more than Kerry.
Her best features are her lips - and that's via collagen injection.
Derek Jacobi...great!
Alexander will end up like Troy, A droll fest for the females.
Probably a major reason for the success of the LOTR films, especially Nos. 2 and 3. Teenage girls swooned over Titanic, as well.
Do they play up the gay angle?
In ANY GIVEN SUNDAY, Al Pacino palyed an NFL coach who seemed to do most of his Sunday evening through Saturday evening game prep at a bar. Yes, just like Bill Belichik and Bill Parcells do! Further, we were submitted to lectures from characters played by LT and Jim Brown on the value of character. Finally, the owner was played by Cameron Diaz(!). The only really good scenes were (1) when the Jim Rome character got punched by the Pacino character and (2) Charlton Heston's cameo.
Did not like Paris (Legolas).
Surprisingly, I did like Achilles.
The rumour was that that Paramount was cutting the scenes with the homosexuality out of the film in order to save it at the box office.
"Whatever his politics are, his command of film making grammar and technique is considerable. He is very talented."
Perhaps, but I am so tainted by his politics that I feel he is trying to inculcate the audience than entertain.
The Kennedy movie was a farce.

Yep,
the same women (I mean ADULT women too ;) that were swooning at Troy were in LOTR drolling and fanning.
Alexander looks promising :)
The winter holiday slate looks really empty this year..'Meet the Parents' and zilch maybe the 'The Aviator' but I dont know if I can stomach that much Alec Baldwin..
