The differnce will be that this mans records will be made public and he won't have 250 other men who served with him calling him a opportunist and a liar!
I was going to let fly some serious verbage, but you pretty much said everything I wanted to.

Well, if some of the recipients turn anti-war activists and traitor, or if it turns out they had to lobby their CO for the award because the wound only required a bandaid and was caused by their on fire...then maybe they will be questioned some day.

I can't recall who the 'embed' was, but I remember during the original push into Iraq a reporter got caught up in the action of the unit he was grafted into. He wrote a white-hot, searing indictment of other media slime and their pretense of objectivity and he drew upon his real-life patrol with an armored unit under fire.
He was terrific! He helped direct fire against the "M-F'rs" that were shooting at his homeys. The tankers spit .50's into the nest of slime that were shooting at our laddies and reduced them to room temperature. Our scribbler rejoiced! The tone and reception of that article launched a series of critical pieces that questioned the role of the reporter in combat positions and the likely allegience forged in the fire of combat.
In short, that 'embed' won his pay and the thanks of the troops. Wish more would do the same.

I emailed CNN also. Before they let you submit your message you have to indicate whether your message is positive or negative. Do you think they can't tell by reading it? Maybe they have a special SWAT team to handle the negatives.
