I'm hoping that clymer Asa Hutchison leaves.
EXACTLY!! He just wanted to win the damn war!!!
Right - I think he'd be great in Homeland Security!
I'd love to find a place for Tommy Franks.
Right.
I just hope they don't field a weak candidate or split or something next time.
Don't want to be a worry-wart, but it's just good to see where potential problems may be so we can avoid them . . .
I agree. My point is the GOP would be making a huge mistake by making the pro-choice people feel unwanted like the Dems did with the pro-life folks.
I'm not so desperate to beat Hillary that I would nominate a Noo Yawk Liberal Republican that the MSM idolized like Rodolfo Giussolini for the Presidency. Homeland Security Chief is OK though.
Yep, he had to try to justify the deaths of 600,000 Americans.
How 'bout Tommy Franks or even Stormin' Norman?
New blood brings new ideas to prepare for '08.
In 1964, National Review profiled a "conservative" who was running for Congress in Texas. He is Bush 41. Bush 43 sits to the right of Bush 41 but conservatism has moved farther to the right over the years. Goldwater would be vilified like Rudy today for not passing all economic and social conservative tests.
Pro choice? How quaint.
How about pro baby murder, that's more accurate.
You always need to plan for the future.
That's my position on Rudy as well.
Either Rudy, or Bernard Kerik.
It has a habit of coming more quickly than you think!
:)
Bush is a big government lover. A big program lover. He ain't no conservative.
I concur. That being said, it would be a big mistake for some pro-life GOP to insist that everyone in the party become pro-life. Ain't going to happen. I'd vote to outlaw infanticide in a heartbeat but there isn't a working majority yet to do such a thing. Best chance is to let pro-aborts like Rudy stay in the Big Tent in roles that do not affect abortion law while stacking the courts with pro-life judges.
I suppose you blame FDR for all of our World War II deats as well?
I heard Fred Barnes say the same thing. Bush wants to hit the ground running. Powell offered to stay another six months and Bush said no. Barnes also said that the cleaning house at the CIA was a good thing, getting rid of all those politicized agents who actually worked against the President. Bush wants no one who isn't 100% on board his agenda.
