The guy who knows the internationally flippin' recognized gesture for SURRENDER seems to have lived thru this lil' "encounter".

Q: What do you call a Marine killing an injured Iraqi terrorist?

A: A start

I dare the left to make a deal of this. If they thought they lost their a$$ last election the backlash of jumping on this Marine would haunt them for years

Good job finding this.

It didn't change my mind. The guy did what his combat-honed instincts told him to. That's what combat is about.

I saw the uncut video yesterday and confirm what you posted. IIRC, the enemy terrorist (let's call them what they are - soldier is way too dignified for these bast@#ds)who was shot was lying underneath the window on the right side of the frame. The Marine doesnot approach too close and he calls out to his comrades that he (the terrorist)is faking and that he can see him breathing. Then he shoots. Once, IIRC.

But the video clip that is playing today, the scene shifts to the center of the room and the the Marine is directly over the supposed victim (muzzle about a foot from his head) near some sort of support post. (Was this the surrendering man who was NOT shot?) There is just the "he's faking" comment by the Marine and then multiple reports of the rifle.

Has this video been doctored? It would be pretty easy to lift the audio from the actual shooting and slide it to the images of surrendering terrorist to make it appear as if the Marine shot a person who was clearly surrendering. There isn't alot of detail in the footage other than gross shapes so you have to impute everything from the audio track.

If it was doctored, by whom? The reporter? Or do we have another "Memogate," with some left wing MSM producer/editor "enhancing" the news value of the images.

God help MSM if this video has been doctored.

The Marine was completely justified. As he said, the terrorist was, "fu**ing faking that he's dead." He could have been faking his death in order to sneak attack moments later, or he could have had explosives strapped to him meant for whoever comes to pick up his body. Remember, they believe that killing "infidels" gets them into heaven. It's also worth noting that the other terrorist in the clip wasn't "fu**ing faking that he's dead" and was spared.

Our Soldiers don't need to worry about how things look.
I've confidence this is justified and there are measures in place for those who 'go off' if that's the case. Afterall, they take care of each other. That's good enough for me.
God Bless Our Soldiers.

The wounded terrorist was not a prisoner, as some articles have reported. The marines were still fighting to control the area and the terrorist had not surrendered.

There is real mischief at work in the media spin on this incident.

4 NYPD officers were acquitted of homicide and reckless endangerment for shooting Amadou Diallo 41 times in the Bronx during peace time when he reached for a wallet.

This Marine fired one shot at a man in a war zone where terrorists booby trap bodies and had been playing dead.

Right. It then picks up at the same window above the terrorist that was just shot.

Also a cut at 16 or 17 seconds where they enter the building. The camera man says, "These are the wounded that they never picked up."

The Cameraman was focusing on a shot of a pile of "assumed" dead terrorists. You hear in the background the Marines "He F'ing Faking it, he's faking", Anther Marine says "Yah, He's Breathing". The camera pans up just as the Marine puts a burst into the dirt muncher. You definitely see the shooting.

Agreed. No reason we should act according to the Geneva Conventions...I don't care what happens to any Americans taken prisoner! </sarc>

``No reason we should act according to the Geneva Conventions...I don't care what happens to any Americans taken prisoner! </sarc>``

If we ever go to war with France or England I see your point. We already know what ME countries do to our soldiers caught as prisonsers. They torture and execute them.

So...we should have cut off his head? Is that what you are saying?

Did some terrorist group become a signatory of the geneva accords when I wasn't looking?

I think our military is handling this just right.

1. Pull the Marine in question out of the battle pending investigation. (After all, this guy was reported to have been injured yesterday, and is wound pretty tight right now. Give him some time off to decompress.)

2. Fully investigate the incident. (Again, this is as much a courtesy to our guy -- if the shooting was justified -- as to the dead combatant -- if it was not. If it was justified, our guy needs to get exonerated. If not, he needs to be punished.)

3. Take appropriate disciplinary action. (Based on what I have heard, this seems to fall within the scope of a legal kill. So, appropriate disciplinary action is publicizing that finding and returning the kid to his unit.)

We need to let the military do its thing in this one. My bet is that they will be fairer than either the press or a civilian court.
