Terri Schindler Schiavo will be 41 on December 3, 2004.

A birthday celebration and vigil is planned for December 12 [more info will be posted down thread], where Terri has recently been relocated.

Please post your birthday greetings and prayers for Terri and her family to this thread. These will be put together and given to her family.

We are told that our prayers and support are greatly appreciated by the Schindler family. Thank you in advance, since I want to keep this clear for your greetings!

Terri starts out apparently asleep. A doctor wakes her to start his tests.

Doctor: Terri. Open your eyes up...

Terri: (Startled at hearing her name. She starts moving her mouth and fluttering her eyes, like a person who is just waking up)

Doctor: Open your eyes, Terri open your eyes

Terri: (slowly at first, Terri struggles to open her eyes, then turns toward the doctor, and opens her eyes a normal amount)

Doctor: There you go, good.

Terri: (then, either to show off(?) or wanting to perform well, she leans further forward toward the doctor, looks straight at him and opens her eyes as WIDE AS SHE CAN. >> Note the WRINKLES ACROSS HER FOREHEAD caused by her also RAISING HER EYEBROWS as high as possible )

Doctor: [now obviously impressed] GOOD!! GOOD JOB! GOOD JOB YOUNG LADY! Good Job.

Thank you for starting this thread! Hospice informed us that they will not allow a prayer vigil for Terri on their grounds. They have new sod and they don't want us to destroy the grass.

I pray that this year is the year that Terri is finally freed from her windowless prison - the "hospice" where she has been kept against the will of her family for over a decade.

On this, her birthday, I ask all who care for the disabled to give Terri this gift: take your precious charges out with you to see the trees, the sky, the sun. Let them hear music, let them pet cat, or touch a child. Give them a balloon, or let them watch a happy show on the TV. Let them sit near the window and have the light of the outside world shine on them

All these things are denied Terri - let them be your gift to her if only in spirit.

God bless her Mother, Father, Sister and Brother, and may He keep them in the palm of His Hand. May this year see Terri at home once again with those who love her.
