NEW YORK Nov 20, 2004 The NBA suspended four players indefinitely Saturday for their roles in one of the worst-ever brawls in the league, a fight with fans that commissioner David Stern called "shocking, repulsive and inexcusable." Indiana's Ron Artest, Jermaine O'Neal and Stephen Jackson and Detroit's Ben Wallace were suspended, the NBA said Saturday.
Police in Auburn Hills, Mich., were investigating, but did not comment on who might be charged.
Artest and Jackson lunged into the stands and fought with fans in the final minute of their game against the Detroit Pistons on Friday night, and the brawl forced an early end to the Pacers' 97-82 win.

ARtest should pay 30MM for that hit.

Pretty funny stuff if it didn't involve a bunch of moron players and fans. watch the whole thing, and it will give you some perspective why they all should be booted.

I haven't watched a complete game of the NBA since the entire 80's. Rivalries such as the Celtics/Lakers Finals, as well as the Pistons/Lakers Finals.

That video should be a reminder to anyone why the NBA sucks.

The era of sports figures as role models ended long ago.

I thought there would be a free for all during the Clemson/Carolina game today. Quick response from the officials and local police depts. kept it from getting out of hand.

We all laugh and complain as these folks earn millions at our expense, and at the expense of real living and life. What a joke.
Is this really what a father wants to do with his son or daughter? I am not being trite - I am asking a serious question.

Both teams should be suspended for the rest of this season, and their opponents on their schedule given a buy.

The cause is the NHL lack of a season. Thers's nowhere else to go to see a fight than basketball since hockey is shut-down. (and I like hockey - just not the brawling.)

Wallace didn't go into the stands. I don't know if he deserved a suspension. But his retaliation for the obvious called foul, with little time left on the clock, IMHO, started the whole ruckus.

Meanwhile the Marines, Army, Navy, et. al. grind on in Iraq under intense media scrutiny.
Offer these goons jail time or the military...if the military would take them (and I doubt it.).
The only basketball I've ever enjoyed is the Harlem Globetrotters.

Police with sniper rifles. Sudden death.
Then the fights would stop.
