Some of Bush's instincts are very very good. This was an excellent credit to him.

While I disagree with Bush on a number of issues, there's no denying the adults are back in charge at the White House.

Thank heaven Kerry won't be trying to destroy the Secret Service for the next four years. The eight under Clinton were bad enough.

I believe the baldish guy with his arm on the cop guy (with the khaki hat)is SS. Looks like another ear piece guy ahead of him, hopefully ours. Some of the SS guys evidently are supposed to be on that side.

Strongly agree.

The Presidential "A" prayer team has sent out another msg in the last week talking about some prophetic warnings about his safety and asking for a redoubling of the prayer efforts.

We do well to pray accordingly, imho.

***#348...Yes, I've noticed her too.....but again, she's there, and not close to Laura protecting her....***

That was my thought too on reading 348. If Miss Laura's main "man" is over in the scuffle, who's at the very least, looking at the First Lady?

The photos in your #96 are at once both so cool and so frightening. While the President has his agent's back, who had the President's back? But this is one reason why we all love our Dubya so much. A REAL man.

When I moved to Austin in 1998, my brother-in-law, a retired IRS investigator, told me that he had met George W, then the governor of Texas, several times and that he was a very likable down-to-earth guy. He said that George W never forgot a name, and it really amazed him that he called him by his name the second time that he saw him. I was really surprised because I expected my brother-in-law to be a hard-core Democrat, based on his line of work and the fact that his wife's parents were hard-core Democrats.

And also amazing that the press wasn't all over this.

The media won't be all over it because they don't want the American people to love GWB. As if it were even necessary after his magnificent work post-9/11, but this incident would elevate our Dubya to hero status in the eyes of most Americans.

My cousin's future husband met George W. Bush on a plane, while he was running for governor of Texas the first time. My cousin's fiance said something to him about supporting him and hoping he'd win...blah, blah, blah, and then Bush leaned over to him and said, "I'm going to kick Ann Richard's ASS."

"The president, looking irritated, straightened his shirt cuffs as he went in to the dinner."

That's the part I really liked.

Say ... did ya'll just hear the music from "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly"?

Would cause a furor.

I can hear his dad (actually, Dana Carvey immitating his dad) "wouldn't be prudent." I can also hear his mom saying "get 'em, George." And then I hear Laura, quietly, "oh, God, please protect him"
