A lot of Americans are afraid of the rest of the world, afraid of change, and ignorant about what happens in other countries. What they want to hear is a news service that agrees with their suspicions and tells them that, basically, people in other countries are stupid and envious of the United States. Is this the same Canada where you have to get government permission to express your views, and can still be thrown in jail if the government disagrees with those views? Oh, and as to disliking France, the 21 billion scammed out of the mouths of Iraqi kids, a work force so lazy they didn't want to come back off of vacation during a heat wave that killed 10,000 people, and French troops opening fire on unarmed civilians on the Ivory Coast might have something to do with that.
