"Unfit For Command" Author Considers Challenging Kerry in Senate Race

John Kerry's nightmarish challenge by his Swift Boat veterans and their allies may not be over.

NewsMax recently chatted with Jerry Corsi, the co-author with Swiftee John O'Neill of "Unfit for Command" – the runaway New York Times best seller that torpedoed Kerry's presidential campaign.

Attending a conference in the suburbs of Washington recently, Corsi let it be known that he is actively considering a run against Sen. Kerry when his term is up.

Corsi is not a Massachusetts native, but says he has already scouted for property to declare his residence there.

He appeared excited about the challenge. Federal law allows him to declare his candidacy at any time and open up a full fusillade against the Senate's most liberal member.

Corsi thinks his criticisms of Kerry will be well received in the state that elected Republican Mitt Romney. Even Bush fared better in Massachusetts in 2004 against its home state candidate than he did against Gore in 2000.

Corsi also notes that his Italian-Irish ancestry will give him an edge in a state given to ethnic voting. Kerry is neither Irish nor Italian, Corsi notes.

As word has circulated about a possible candidacy, Corsi says he has been flooded with e-mails of support.

Corsi said he has read news reports that Kerry is considering a lawsuit against him, O'Neill and the Swift Boat Vets.

Presumably the suit would be for defamation. The New York Post's Page Six quoted a top aide to Kerry saying the senator would need to file such a suit if he has any prayer of making a presidential bid in 2008. Incredibly, Kerry is said to be considering such a run.

Corsi said he and O'Neill have discussed the possibility of the lawsuit, and both said they might offer to pay Kerry for the FedEx charges to serve them with any court papers.

"Quote me: Bring it on!" Corsi said with a chuckle.

Good point. So much yet to look forward to, like seeing that bloated Turd Kennedy retired.

Better yet, dig up the treason that got Kerry a less than honerable discharge and get him ejected from the Senate seat that he has been illegally holding and then go after the Senate seat in a special election.

Ralph Martin might be a good candidate. A Massachusetts Republican who happens to be black. I'd vote for him.

O'Neill is not really a Conservative Republican, is he?

sKerry is an extreme extremist lefty. Compared to sKerry, everyone is a conservative. Even x42i.

And PS, Corsi is making this statement, not O'Neal. :-)

Bad idea.

In Left-wing Massachussets, the dead corpse of Ho Chi Minh would defeat any American patriot for a U.S. Senate seat.

Isn't he a FReeper, and didn't he say extreme stuff here what was already all over the media?

That's all the campaign would ever be, and the only thing the media would ever know he said -- that, and his necessarily defensive-looking attempts to backpedal.

Kerry can not run for both offices at once here.

The Mass. legislature has already demonstrated that they are willing to change laws if it suits them. They did so this very year regarding the Governor's authority to appoint a Senator (in case Kerry won) who leaves prematurely.

The real point was to allow a current Congress seat holder the opportiunity to run for Senate and yet not lose their seat if they lost. It was a shameless maneuver. That law was OK for Mass. when JFK won in 1960, but no more.

He can run as a Democrat in the Democratic primary. If he wins, his election in November would be virtually assured.

Good idea. Run as a demo and switch to republican after taking his seat in the senate.

Uh, yeah, it would have helped if I didn't skim the piece, wouldn't it? Thanks for the correction.

I don't know Corsi's political dispostion, but I bet certain members of the Catholic Church will be on him like a short coat.

He predicted, IIRC, that what we (as Catholics, himself included) were witnessing was the end of the Catholic Church as it has always been known. And he used intemperate language to make that point.

I personally wouldn't hold that against him, and regardless of his political affiliation, I'd be rooting for him simply because he was instrumental in saving the Country and us from kerry.

God Bless both O'Neill and Corsi, and the rest of the courageous Swiftboat Veterans.

Corsi said he has read news reports that Kerry is considering a lawsuit against him, O'Neill and the Swift Boat Vets.

Keep in mind that sKerry has a multi billion dollar bankroll
backing him in a lawsuit fight.

Yeah, extreme stuff.

Did you know that he, < shocked> actually referred to Democrats as "The RATS" on FreeRepublic < /shocked>.

Did you know his coauthor of Unfit for Command, Jerome Corsi, has a paper record (not audio) of partisan venomous rhetoric, calling Democrats " The RATS" numerous times in free-republic posts of his

We are grateful to Corsi for his complicity in exposing JF sKerry, but being a Democrat, what are his policies on the major concerns we face today, ie: Christianity, abortion, gun control, same sex marriage, foreign policy, etc., etc., etc.? Would he be more difficult for a Republican to defeat in Mass.? Granted, on the face of things, he would be better than sKerry.

Both bodies of congress have their own disciplinary process, as detailed in the Constitution. The last member to be expelled, was Jim Trafficant, after his felony conviction.

The last disciplinary action not preceded by a felony conviction, to the best of my memory, was the expulsion of Clement Vallandigham for Southern sympathies during the Civil War. Lincoln had him deported to the south, but he snuck back in to Ohio from Canada.

Perhaps some freeper has a more accurate recollection on disciplinary histories of the Congress...

you know who would be a great candidate? Bill Cosby.

As a Democrat. Cos' may have said some things with which we agree but he still doesn't like conservatives.
