Silent Night,
Litigious Night....

Christ said he came to divide those who would stand for the Truth vs. those who were against it.

Amazing how those who hate Christ are on the wrong side of every battle in the culture war....

Read these statistics below that were printed in Newsweek this week. Then ask yourself, "Why is it that many of our schools are now forbidding Christmas music to be played by their bands and sung by their choirs? Why are we giving in to a small minority of atheists? I think it is time we take back our education system!

MOST AMERICANS BELIEVE IN JESUS

A poll released this week by Newsweek reveals some surprising statistics on how Americans view Jesus and his birth.
* Ninety-three percent of all Americans believe Jesus really lived.
* Eighty-two percent see Jesus as God or the Son of God.
* Seventy-nine percent say they believe Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and was born of the Virgin Mary.
* Sixty-seven percent of Americans think the entire Christmas story is historically accurate, including the virgin birth, angelic proclamation to the shepherds, the star of Bethlehem and the wise men from the East.
* Eighty-four percent consider themselves Christians.
* Fifty-five percent believe the Bible is literally accurate.
* Fifty-two percent believe Jesus will return to earth some day, and 15 percent think it will be during their lifetime.
* Eleven percent say American society as a whole very closely reflects true Christian values and the spirit of Jesus; 53 percent say it somewhat reflects those values.
* Eighty-six percent think organized religion has "a lot" or "some" influence over life in the United States.

OK, I'm sick up and fed with educrats bending over backward to eradicate any hint of Christianity from our public schools.

Notice I didn't say "religion"; it's perfectly ok to display Jewish or Muslim or Kwaanza-ish symbols, donchaknow.

Was just watching a segment on FNC, they had on one of the lawyers from the Thomas More Center, which fights against religious discrimination, along with a client from NY who is suing the NYC dept of education, because they will not allow a Christian symbol, the creche, to be displayed in the 1200 schools, even though they allow a menorah and and islamic symbol for Ramadan.

They have allowed only Christmas trees to be displayed, but this is not a religious symbol. And they are trying to get away with this by saying that the menorah and the Ramadan symbol are NOT religious.

More of this opposition needs to catch on:

http://www.thomasmore.org/news.html?NewsID=261

ANN ARBOR, MI — With less than three weeks to go before Americans celebrate the national Christmas holiday, two prominent legal cases dealing with government policies that discriminate against Christmas religious displays during the holy season have each reached a critical stage. The Thomas More Law Center is fighting two separate cases, one in New York City and the other in Bay Harbor Islands, Florida, over policies that outlaw the public display of the Christian Nativity while permitting the display of symbols of other religions.

Richard Thompson, President and Chief Counsel of the Law Center commented Thursday, “Christmas is under siege throughout our nation, and the cases in New York and Bay Harbor Islands demonstrate the kind of hostility and double standard being used by officials to deny Christians the right to publicly celebrate one of their holiest seasons.”

In New York City, Law Center attorney Robert Muise will present oral argument Monday, December 13th, before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in the Law Center’s case against the New York City Department of Education. The Law Center filed a federal lawsuit, challenging New York City’s policy that encourages and permits the display of the Jewish Menorah during Hanukkah and the Islamic star and crescent during Ramadan in the more than 1200 public schools in the City, but prohibits the similar display of the Christian Nativity during Christmas.

"Amen."

Onward Christian Soldiers, we have a two front war, physical, those who want to destroy our flesh and more importantly spiritual, those who seek to destroy our faith.

Both enemies serve the same 'god', and it is not our God!

I heard about this from someone who has a child in the local school. Next to my city, where we had over 96% turnout on election day (with Bush winning 4 to 1), I would've thought that the anti-Christians could not have picked a worse venue for their shenanigans. That's why this Karl Springer needs to be freeped and removed from his position. He is obviously way out of touch with the people in his school district.

Look at this poll: Should the superintendent have eliminated the Christian portion of the Lakehoma Elementary School holiday play?

Yes 100 votes 7%
No 1277 votes 93%

If FReepers do not want to contact the Superintendent or otherwise work to out the one complaining parent, at least FReep the poll on this page for the good people of Mustang Oklahoma.

Exactly. I was around when that racist thing came into existance. Pure racism....nothing else.

"We don't need whiteys Christmas, we'll create our own"....voila, Kwanzaa.

Anyone tells you different, call them a liar.

I'm not advocating physical action, but I am advocating Christians start developing some backbone, and implementing tangible efforts to neuter the ACLU and other avowed enemies of their faith.

Join the fight against the ACLU and their ilk by becoming involved with and supporting the following organizations:

Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) - http://www.alliancedefensefund.org

Thomas More Law Center (TMLC) - http://www.thomasmore.org

American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) - http://www.aclj.org

The Rutherford Institute - http://www.rutherford.org/

Stop the ACLU Coalition - http://www.stoptheaclu.org

Here are a few examples of how two of those organizations are fighting back:

ADF Contacts Over 3,600 School Districts Over Attempts To Censor Christmas

ADF: 700 lawyers ready to fight ACLU lawsuits

ADF: Pentagons' Warning About Boyscouts Is Absurd

Thomas More Law Center: Town of Palm Beach Pays $50,000 In Attorney Fees Apologizes To Women In Nativity Lawsuit

Additional information:

The ACLU must be destroyed: Joseph Farah supports Boy Scouts, urges Americans to fight back

Citizens mobilized to stop ACLU (seeks to consign group to 'ash heap of history')

ACLU fulfilling communist agenda

Revealing FACTS on the ACLU from its own writings

See how YOUR Senator or Representative ranks with the ACLU

It's okay to say Merry Christmas:

"Merry Christmas. Believe It. Say It. Wear it!"

Mustang resident Gerald Lett said he thought it was ridiculous to ban the song in the first place.

"I think it's asinine," Lett said. "It's another case of taking our rights away to serve somebody's minority rights."

Good for you Mr. Lett.

However, these screaming vocal minorities have no constitutional right to ban the first amendment rights of the majority.

Kwanzaa is not a religious tradition; it's a fraud invented from whole cloth out of hatred for "whitey."

Courtesy of some whacko Berkeley professor, from what I understand.....

Thanks for the good comments and Christmas wishes.

I agree, that wishing someone a Merry Christmas is an expression of hope that the person and their immgediate circle of friends will have a very happy season.

Those that do believe in Christ understand that it's their time to remember their God and be thankful for His rich blessings, but they aren't trying to force that on anyone.

Too bad there aren't more reasoned folks such as yourself in this old world.

I'd love to see the ACLU Forced to fight literally tens of thousands of suits that would burry them, and burn up their donated funding.

Thank you for the post.
