Judging from the insiders listed on the back of this book--Mike Deaver, Ed Meese, Tony Dolan, David Gergen, and Lyn Nofziger--it was profound.
Here's what FOX News commentator, Fred Barnes, said:
"No one knew and understood Ronald Reagan the leader better than Dick Wirthlin. And no one explained so well the core of Reagan's leadership, what Wirthlin calls his ability 'to change lives and the world with words.' The Greatest Communicator is a smart and insightful book, indispensable to understanding Reagan." ---Fred Barnes, executive editor, The Weekly Standard, and co-host, "The Beltway Boys," FOX News
Seems like we are only now learning of Wirthlin's behind the scenes influence. A true Reagan loyalist who was happy to remain in the shadows, I suppose.
Reagan influenced those around him much more than vice versa.
bttt
Lee Atwater was Reagan's political strategists.
Lee Atwater also got George Bush elected in 1988. He died before the 1992 campaign, which probably attributed to Bush's loss.
Good leaders have a way of surrounding themselves with good staff. Who wouldn't be inspired to work for a man like Reagan?
WRONG!!! Lee Atwater was George Herbert Walker Bush's political strategist!!! Go to the back of the class!!!
Correctamundo.
The book is titled, "The Greatest Communicator: What Ronald Reagan Taught Me About Politics, Leadership and Life". With a strong emphasis on what Dick Wirthlin learned from Ronald Reagan.
Try Lyn Noifziger.
Go to the back of the class!!!
Reagan set three for himself as president: reduce taxes and rationalize the system; bring the Cold War to a successful conclusion; and limit the size and scope of the federal government.
Something I heard from George Will
At Reagan frist cabinet meeting he said
Governments to big
Taxes are to high
The USSR is evil
That's my program, now you guys take care of the details.
