Only in America does a president light a menorah while a Jewish choral group sings Hebrew songs and the Marine band plays American songs. Only in America do Jews feel so honored as Jews and yet so completely part of the larger culture, fully Jewish and fully part of the greater nationality. Non-American Jews (including even Canadians) are often amazed at how completely American Jews in the U.S. feel. We take it for granted, but as a former college lecturer in Jewish history, I know that this is unique.

Well there are some Jews who do mind Christmas, unfortunately. For example, the American Jewish Congress is one group who has worked hard to remove nativity scenes. Other religious symbols can be displayed but not Christian ones. A number of Jewish parents have tried to have references to God and Christmas removed from schools. I don't understand it. You're right, some of the music is just beautiful.

There were no caps in the original. The KJV decided to add caps where ever it wanted to steer people to think a certain way. The KJV even goes so far as to render a DELIBERATE mis-translation. tsk tsk
