...and that we as a country needed the "Let's Roll" heros in the aftermath of the attacks. I agree. And I will go one step further and say that it doesn't matter if it WAS shot down or not. In no way would it diminish what the passengers did. They are to be remebered as heroes who were willing to fight for their country when all seemed lost.

Hunble, I'm not certain what brought on that comment, but you're welcome to express your thoughts. I'm sure others probably share them. I myself might if I understood exactly who you're going after.
The comments regarding the flight brought down in Pennsylvania don't seem to me to be focused on blaming the government. If the government did shoot down the flight, I have got to say that it was at once a courageous, unavoidable and tragic necessity.
Look at the damage done to the twin towers. One such plane took down each tower. The flight over Pennsylvania was destined to be crashed into something. The passenger's fate already sealed. The targets were saved. Tragically, the flight crew and civilians couldn't be.

Bingo!!! They were expecting us to act french. We didn't. I cannot express how proud I am of these ordinary Americans, behaving in such an extraordinary fashion, in an unprecedented situation.

Realistically, the passengers would have died either way. I don't say that to imply that their lives had no value, but the deaths from this act of terrorism would have been much worse had this flight reached its intended target. Maybe the passengers caused the crash.

I am a private citizen with no inside knoweledge. I am not revealing anything that wasn't available to the general public, and many disagree with me. That's just my take on it. Take it for what it is.

I agree with you. If ever the word victim applied, the flight crews and passengers of those ill-fated flights on 09/11 certainly qualified. It seems those on the Pennsylvania flight tried to turn it around, but were unable to. They have my respect and heartfelt sympathy, as do their relatives and friends.

My argument is against the people who attempt to use a tragic event like this against our government. What is their motivation, other than aiding the enemy?
All evidence today points to the outstanding citizens of that aircraft, as being responsible for heroic actions.
If, because of scientific forensic evidence that we learn another story of the actual events, it simply does not matter.
I question the people who dare to trivialize the actions of that day.
The people, on the aircraft, were American heroes!

I remember that too. Saw something about it a while back. I don't have an opinion one way or the other but conceivably if they were trying to disable the plane rather than shoot it down, it would have left debris in more than one place. I don't imagine it's easy to disable a plane and not make it crash but maybe they decided to give it a shot.

Ah, well, here it is right from the transcript:
Earlier this month, I was in Afghanistan. And if you think about it, three years ago in Afghanistan, the al Qaeda and the Taliban were training terrorists and attacking the World Trade Center and the Pentagon and the aircraft that crashed in Pennsylvania. That was just three years ago.
Mystery solved.

Hunble, I completely agree with your comments. If anyone is trying to make points off this tragedy, that is wrong. This situation was a lose lose, and the government can't win in situations like this.
If there were room to criticize, it would be at the national security level, and it would be limited to strategic foresite and planning.
Once this situation developed, it was too late for the politicos to do anything more than what they did. That's my take on it. I do not blame the Bush administration for this. Some undoubtedly do. I think that's absurd.
