Didn't Newt dump his cancer ridden wife for some younger broad?

Yes and then he divorced the younger broad when she got older for another younger broad.

Between he and Guliani there are 4 divorces. I say we "next" them both in favor of Governor Sanford of South Carolina

Four divorces? That's four ex wives who won't vote for them! *L*

Two for Rudy and two for Newt. I'm not sure if Newt's first ex is still alive, she was sick with cancer when he "nexted" her.

Of course Rudy has the specter of Donna Hanover (his second ex) hanging over his political ambitions and she's a vindictive world class bitch.

Newt is the obverse of Clinton, it's a boomer thing. Both very smart politicians who grew up during the "if it feels good do it years" lacking the necessary moral underpinning to lead the country.

I say that as a boomer whose misspent youth likewise would prevent me from being POTUS if I was lucky enough to possess some of the other qualifications necessary. No Newt in 08.

How exactly would he be a tyrant? If he fired several thousand government employees by eliminating useless departments and agencies? I'll take that tyranny.

Was she the one he had the affair on? During his last Mayoral term?

Don't know anything about your Gov Sanford, but I do know that the next nominee will be one that has a top notch campaign organization, starting with a manager who has successfully run several major senate or gubernatorial races. Then he will have an experienced finance chairman, media consultant, pollster, direct mail consultant, speech writer, advance team, and Internet pro.

The winning candidate will also have a cadre of issue advisers who are highly respected in their areas of expertise.

All this before he floats his first trial balloon. His campaign manual has to be completed before his first speech or else he could blow everything before he even gets started.

Does your Gov Sanford sound like a winning candidate or is he just joking around and hoping that a giant tidal wave of supporters will obviate the need for laying a good foundation for a campaign?

"Scumbag was a two term president and his party loves him. I would say Newt's morals are light years ahead of Scumbag's." - all every true but also equally true is that Newt is no Scumbag. He lacks the trademark charm of a true psychopath - Newt screwed the pooch (well - his aide, anyway) giving way too much ammunition to the media and his 'friends' across the aisle. His best contribution would be as a strategist and advisor not the self-preening twit he has played for the last 5 years or so.

Yup. Wow did that get ugly. The main difference between Donna Hanover and Hilary! is Hillary! puts up with affairs.

Rudy cheated on Donna after she stopped having marital relations with him.

I like Newt and all, but his time in the spotlight has passed.

I will buy his book, and I do agree with him alot, I think he would better serve this country as a more behind the scenes type of guy, i.e. a Karl Rove type, or as an operative.

Unless he runs for governor or senator and wins and is successfull, I don't think he has any chance of ever being a contender for the presidency.

"You were smart, but you didn't have the moral qualifications to be a leader."

Since when do we judge great leaders by to whom and how long they were married?

As a man, it is sort of hard to blame Rudy for cheating on Donna, the same way it has to blame Clinton for cheating on Hillary!

Still the man has too much baggage, so he should be nexted as we can find a better candidate

The media only pays attention to you when it hurts the president or the image of the party

Exactly, and God knows that McCain and Hagel have already filled that particular niche. Sheesh.

This was the very last thing Gingrich needed to do if he wanted to win the approval of red staters. I think the majority of us, not just those of on FR, are sick to death of Monday morning quarterbacks bashing the Commander-in-Chief during war time.

I hate to disapoint you but the next president will be George Allen from VA.

I like George Allen, but I doubt it. This is only 2005, alot can happen in 3 years, and my guess is, it will be a sitting governor that gets elected, not a former governor turned senator.

Though Allen will be a "swiss army knife" canidate to be reckoned with.

" Yes, but would you vote for him? Would he win the primary?I don't see that happening."

Me neither, the Bushbots have taken over the GOP and they will no doubt force another globalist, elitist Bush on us, Jeb. Of all the Bush's Jeb seems the most conservative and the brightest. So I can live with him, but it would be sooooo nice to get a real conservative into office instead of these democrats wearing GOP suits neocons.

Agreed. The beltway is obviously one big echo chamber, where the so-called elites delight in the sound of their own voices.
