Posted on 01/17/2005 3:02:50 PM PST by norafinegirl
Media Alert I'll be on Fox News' Special Report with Brit Hume this evening at 6pm EST / 3 pm PST, speaking about the voting irregularities.
My first ever interview on a national TV news program!
Posted by Stefan Sharkansky
I'm stuck in lab and can't get to a TV! SOmeone please give a live-thread sort of playbyplay?
Kewl..thanks for the heads up..His columns have been posted here often..he seems to be a very good source on the Washingron State election....
Can you catch the repeat later?
I don't know, I might be in the lab for the next seven hours. Why did I pick engineering.
You picked engineering because you are very smart, and you know where the jobs are (-;
If I find a transcript somewhere I will link to it for you.
Coming up after this commercial break...
Sharkansky seems very confident that there will be a revote ordered.
I hope he's right, and is being honest and not just optimistic.
SS: King County had 3000 more ballots than registered voters. If those votes would've split the way other votes did in other counties, Rossi would've won.
Watching it now. He's doing great!
BH: You want to contest this election. You want it declared invalid.
SS: 100s of felons "voted".
Chapter Ping please...
Ya done good!
I thought the number was 8,000 MORE votes than voters. What happened to the other 5,000??
It's over. I'm sorry, MIT-Elephant, I know that was a piss-poor transcription :(
I heard 3000--I could be wrong.
8000 State Wide, 3000 in King Co.
He did great!! He forgot to mention the 348 provisional ballots illegally fed into the voting machines, but for his first time on national TV, he made the case very well indeed.
Ya did good. Thanks.
I agree. He was very well-spoken. Wasn't nervous at all. Good job.
Nearly every year the east side Republicans in the legislature propose secession from the tyranny of King County. Where is this year's bill? This is the year it could happen if the revote is denied.
Repeat on at 11pm CST.
Excellent that he got onto this show, and that he reportedly did well. This man is doing the Lord's work.
I don't understand. Don't dimmocrats care about people? All people?
Of course they do (as long as you agree with them ;'}
"SS: King County had 3000 more ballots than registered voters. If those votes would've split the way other votes did in other counties, Rossi would've won".
I'm guessing that 2999 of the 3000 mysterious ballots went to GregGore. Toss them out and we have a Dino Rossi landslide.
If it does go to the Wash Supreme Court..what's the judicial make-up politically?..like the Florida Supremes...we may not win this..but I think we get to take down Cantwell in 2006..when the electorate feels they've been had..they tend to punish the party in the next election..
Hey, Sharkansky, I saw you, and you were great! I knew I had heard of you when Brit introduced you. You'll be back!
Can one of your more erudite-than-I individuals answer ken5050's question (below) in detail? I don't know the answer specifically enough.
"If it does go to the Wash Supreme Court..what's the judicial make-up politically?.."
Very articulate, well spoken, calm, and precise.
Best explanation yet of how bad the mess is out here.
Great job Stephan!
Hey now, I'm in South King county. I wanna go with 'em. Maybe Seattle proper = King county, Suburbia and rural areas become something more sane.
I can tell you some stuff about the three that ran this time:
Jim Johnson (just elected) is a judicial conservative; he ran on an explicitly anti-judicial-activism platform. He was supported by most Republicans, and we had his literature in Spokane County GOP campaign HQ, although he was not officially endorsed by the party.
Both Barbara Madsen and Richard Sanders were endorsed by the state GOP for re-election. We also gave out Sanders literature at HQ.
I know one who lives on Lake Washington and he really cares about people!! He carries money in his pocket in case he is mugged because muggers need money. That's why muggers mug others, because they need the money. If they had the money then they wouldn't mug others. He also feels a great debt to his fellow man which he proposes to pay with OPM...:-)
I don't believe that they would have split that way. King County is overwhelmingly Democrat, thus they would have split overwhelmingly Dem.
Or perhaps he means something else.
Fairhurst is a liberal.
I'd like to think that you're right, but if Osama Mama Patty Murray was re-elected by the margin she was, I'm not sure there is much hope for unseating the slightly 'better' of the two - Maria Cantwell. I know many are upset about Dino's stolen election, but 2 years from now, unless Maria Does something MORE inflammatory than the "osama built day care centers" it's hard to imagine we'll get rid of her.
Loginsky's financial support and endorsement come mostly from prosecutors, and much of her criticism of the court stems from the court's rulings and rules related to criminal prosecution.
"It's too often substituting its judgment for that of the people and their elected legislators," Loginsky said of the court.
She's hoping that the same kind of anti-incumbent sentiment that swept incumbent Charles Johnson into office 12 years ago will sweep him out. Without judicial experience, Johnson ousted a sitting justice by running on the populist appeal of his one-man legal practice.
Sanders actually calls himself a libertarian:
Yeah, I saw it. He did very well -- he speaks better than he writes.

as others may add more, you might want to check back on the thread.
Thanks for the info.
I follow the WA state Supreme Court very closely. When this gets to the state supreme court, it will most likely be a unanimus decision for a re-vote. i would guess that 2-3 justices will recuse themselves. Fairhurst, for sure, since she is a close friend of Gregoire. Sanders may recuse or be asked by the democrats to recuse. CJ Alexander should recuse himself and I would say it is about a 50-50 chance he will. He has some personal reasons for wanting Gregoire to be the governor.
"Don't dimmocrats care about people? All people?"
Of COURSE they do. They are people and their 'vote-slave' minorities are 2/3 people.
But people who vote them out of office aren't people at all, just don't even exist. Until we Blog them to oblivion!
< / semi-sarcasm off.

Thanks for the info, and the links..BTW..would you care to opine as to what you think will happen?
