NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)-- Taking sides in a cultural battle, some of the nation's top artists -- including Mandy Moore, Dolly Parton -- have contributed to a CD that benefits the nation's largest homosexual activist organization.
All of the proceeds from the CD, "Love Rocks," will go to the Human Rights Campaign -- a homosexual activist organization that has figured prominently in the push to legalize same-sex "marriage" nationwide and works to promote "lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights."
The two-disk CD set -- which is being released just in time for Valentine's Day -- features some 30 artists, including Yoko Ono, who sings "Every Man Has a Man." Other top artists are Christina Aguilera, Emmylou Harris, Pink and Carole King...
Moore, who in 2002 starred in a movie ("A walk to Remember") targeted to Christian Teens, said she is glad to be a part of the project...
A statement by the Human Rights Campaign said the artists came together to "celebrate love and committment regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity."
But Focus on the Family's Melissa Fryear, a former lesbian, said the CD's use of the word "love" is deceptive.
"Love is one of the Trojan horses for the acceptance of homosexuality," Fryear, a gender analyst, said in an e-mail to Baptist Press. "Gay activists are trying to find an argument that carries emotional weight: 'love' after all, sounds good to everyone.
"The problem, though...their definition is meant to mean the acceptance and celebration of homosexuality..."

There aren't really many surprises to me on this list. Most of them have shown in previous career decisions a gay-friendly outlook. The only real disappointment to me is Emmylou Harris.
The problem with that mentality is that it's incredibly shallow. Not shallow for judging, but shallow in that you're basing your judgements on the tip of the iceberg you can see...ie the front man. The actor, the singer, the guy who's picture you see. The reality is that he's just one of many. When you buy a CD, go to a concert, or see a movie, you support a whole bunch of people, not just the front men and women.
There aren no illegitimate children, only illegitimate parents.
Shalom.
Morals?
I disagree strongly. I think it is Biblical and commanded by Him to support those who are most faithful to Him. Where your treasures are, there is where your heart will be.
Those who you may see who seem to be so quick at letting go of some earthly possession, such as a Dolly CD, once they find that it would not please God....I am telling you, it is NOT legalism..it is their love for God that causes them to so quickly remove these things of the world from their life. We are to seriously FEAR big time the consequences that entanglement with this world may have on our lives, our destination. Many WILL fall away, why would you want to see how close you can get to a fire without it burning you! And we need to watch our puffed up pride and arrogance, thinking we are so strong, that we could not possibly fall away...it is going to get much worse..are you ready to stand firm.
Wasn't there a scandal about Dolly Parton and a minor? I read she was asked about it on Larry King and didn't deny it.
I have absolutely no clue. Haven't heard of it.
What I'm saying is that you're view is completely superficial, based on the most cursory of examinations. I'm not saying anything about what's pleasing to God. I don't know which would be more or less pleasing to God, a CD by a an outspoken artist in favor of homosexuality, or a CD produced by an outspoken record producer in favor of homosexuality. What I do know is that a whole lot of folks point and scream at the former, but are completely oblivious to the second, which is why I call it shallow.
Dollie, say it ain't so.
Has-beens and never-weres. I'm surprised that Jacko isn't on the list too, considering his proclivities...
