"If I were that family, I'd want the rabies check repeated..."
Aye!
rabies?bleach sniffing? eating 'shrooms?
The 2x4 cat excepted, I agree.
We currently have 3, the oldest of which has been with us since 1995. He's sailed 15,000 miles with us in the tropics, traveled about 10,000 miles by car, and loves to get under the covers about 6 AM until I get up at 8. If I don't get up, he GENTLY puts his claws on my nose to let me know he wants to go outside.
Beats the heck out of the psycho cat in the headline!
I learned to be terrified by turkeys. We had the domestic white turkeys and they are huge and heavy and attack with their feet and beaks. I've had stare downs with turkeys many times. Of course not as frequently after Thanksgiving. But they can be really dangerous.
I heard swans can attack. I read of golfers having to whack them with golf clubs.
Didn't a swimming rabbit attack Jimmy Carter? Or did I hallucinate that?
What's with these things?
Agreed. Loving pet owners would want to know the medical cause and whether the cat was suffering. Then, too, if the owners were innocent and had a normal regard for their daughter they would be eager to explain the episode for her in medical terms. Their lack of feeling is worrisome--they must make wonderful parents.
Oldie but,Still makes me laugh!
He didnt die for at least five minutes ..."
I agree.
Hee hee. I see you've owned a cat, too.
ROFL! And when you put one in the mailbox, you call it Bill, and when you throw it in the pool, you call it Bob, and when you put one in a pile of leaves, it's Russell, and when you hang them both on the wall, you call them Curt 'n' Rod...or alternatively, Art.
Sounds like rabies.?????
But so quick?? Maybe so. I hope they are pressured to do the extended autopsy and we find out more.
That or they didn't want to spend $10,000 dollars trying to find out.
Cats are better than kids. Same mess, less stress.
I would hope they do.....
Headlines Smeadlines. He'd be dead here too just to be on the safe side.
Interesting though the bleech theory by a previous poster.
We considered getting a pair of swans for our beautiful spring pond, but changed our minds after owning geese. They were bad enough--and those beaks have sawtooth edges, for those who don't know it.
The geese were so territorial and mean that the yard dog used to get between them and the grandkids...once my grandson was wearing cowboy boots with shorts, and the goose stuck his head in to try to get his sock, don't ask me why. It was hilarious, we couldn't help laughing at him running with the goose head stuck in the boot! Poor little guy! Anyway, I've put a sock over their head and tucked it under my arm to pull feathers, and gotten some nasty bruises from the wings and the beak.
So, no swans. Those darn things can weigh 50 pounds. Too much mean bird for me!
Another earlier poster said his cat had a similar reaction after flea drops were put on. I wondered if it were some kind of ant poison in the basement. The bleach theory sounded possible, too.
