It is a nice piece of artwork, but OBVIOUSLY a COPY!
The University of Colorado guys have more than enough on Churchill by now. By early March they have the ruling? Will be interesting to see that result. Get him the heck out of there!
Oh, brother. Ping to post #349 to see the side-by-side comparisons. Since you probably don't have time to read the replies on this thread, other highlights that have been posted are: A few more forged/copied "lithographs" from Churchill, plus auctions on eBay for some of these "original" lithographs going for $250+.
As a professional graphic artist, I say this is outright plagiarism!
Even if he stated he copied the other artist's illustration, HE STILL COPIED! This is out and out plagiarism.
Seen this?
Ward Cleaver?
see 573
he needs to be prosecuted for destruction of public property, inciting to riot and all his speeding tickets called back up
this guy is not funny, he is a deep and dirty CRIMINAL

It's a Mutual Admiration Society of Corruption
Any time you copy someone else's photo for your artwork, without their permission, it's PLAGIARISM.

There's a good pic of him toking somewhere but danged if I can find it.
I got bored with that. I created some original art depicting Brer Churchill
in Vietnam, on the riverside, under fire with his pals.
Watch for me on Ebay!
Very nice!
Be sure to choose an ethnic group to be a member of to add to the value.

"It's a Mutual Admiration Society of Corruption"
In one line, you said it!
He's not American.
The item up for auction now is a very striking and impressive serigraph/lithograph by renowned Native American author and artist, Ward Churchill ( Keetoowah Band Cherokee).
Churchill is Professor Emeritus of Ethnic Studies at the University of Colorado, and is the Coordinator of American Indian Studies at the same institution. He is also Associate Director of the Center for Studies of Ethnicity and Race in America and Co-Director of the Colorado Chapter of the American Indian Movement. Additionally he is a member of the American Indian Anti-Defamation Council and the author of many books and scholarly publications.
An accomplished artist in his own right, the work up for auction now is entitled "Winter Attack". It measures 27" wide by 20" tall and is very nicely framed. Signed by the artist, lower right, it is marked "A.P." for Artists Proof.
The image is laid on rag paper and the maker's watermark is embossed in the lower right corner. This piece is in excellent conditon with no foxing, wrinkling or damage of any kind. It was purchased at a prestigious gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico many years ago and has been well cared for in a prominent art collection in the Denver, Colorado area.
The image is a very stark and compelling one that evokes a sense of isolation and resignation at the same time, yet is elegant. One of the finer pieces by this controversial, but important artist, it would be the perfect addition to the Native American or Ethnic art collection.
Please excuse the reflections in the images below, the piece presents beautifully in person! Buyer to pay $27.50 shipping in the Continental USA, International ship = more $$, inquiries are welcome ask early and often as all sales are final.
Drat. I can't find the photo now and I've quickly flipped through most of my books. I couldn't find the one photo I was thinking of which could be similar, either, in the time I had, so perhaps I'm wrong and this is a composite of more than one photo.
"maybe he copied some of her works, too?"
The question here is, who did she copy HER works from?
She was an affirmative action hothouse orchid who was incapable of rational thought, much less creating serious books.
And the "inspired" fontsize was so small that it looked like a smudge, and I'm sure those boatloads of senior citizen shoppers couldn't make it out even with their reading glasses on.
Deceptive labeling like this reminds me in so many ways of WC. It's such a shame that up until now the name "Churchill" has invoked images of greatness. Now that name is forever tarnished.

Fire up, dude!
How about Genune American Indian Jewelry, made by real immigrants from India?
Actually, this POS has been discrediting CU for as long as he's been there only now it's out in the open. Like Cockroaches, we all know there are many, many more of these frauds in academe, each awaiting a simple look.
Look at the facts here - Churchill, despite all of his obvious and easily detected frauds was sailing along under the radar, appealing to his group of radical zealots, until his essay on 911 got press - Over two years AFTER it had been written. Once the spotlight was trained, all of his fraud has come tumbling out and I hope his fate is now determined - Termination without severance or benefits.
I am very certain many, many of these intellectual frauds would suffer similar fates if given a similar airing of their outrageous 'scholarship'. These frauds and charlatans have been free to ply their trade in American Universities far too long and, in the process, have replicated their ideas into the heads of their unfortunate students. IMO Churchill is really not much different than cult chieftain Charles Manson or a Radical Islamic Imam in charge of a Madrassas.
W. C. FRAUDS?
And who knew Solomon was a Republican?
Yeah I got my TV on....
I am going to break my long-standing habit of avoiding O'Reilly tonight to see what he has to say about this fraudster.
Sleuth on!

I was satisfied that the news of the first picture was shown, as well as another playing of the tape where Churchill hits the reporter.
I also was glad to see that if they do't do anything about Churchill, the people of Colorado are going to go ballistic.
Very good point. However, copying art and passing it off as original has got to be a sin in academia? Right? If not I've got an original Mona Lisa I'd like to sell to CU.
By the way, has he cut his hair, or was that an old picture? If he has cut his hair, I think it is because he was too recognizable to the general public. I bet he was getting a lot of harassment on airplanes as he flew to his speaking engagements.
Are those two pictures Ward Churchill's?
Certificate of Authenticity is included
Churchill is a garden variety democrat who got caught. He can spit-shine his answers all day long, but you can't put a high shine on a turd.
You know this how? Never mind I don't wanna know. (grin)
This has been a super great thread...Tracking down art copyright. WOOOOHOOOO. thanks for the fun all!
I think I remember seeing the top image when I was searching the other day. I'm off to work here shortly and don't have time, but it is worth a search if someone has time.
Can someone with the computer skills take several famous paintings, do mirror images, and sign Churchill's name to them? Maybe they could be advertised as WARD CHURCHILL GENUINE FAKES on ebay.
