Right... Your "beliefs" after all jive with their so-called "statistics" therefore it must be true.
Exactly, what's more important, the right to vote or the right to self defense?
Did any of you notice that this legislation does not include any language guaranteeing that the military vote would be counted? Felons: yes, military: no.
At just the time in history we ought to make voting more of a privaledge and less of a right-by-default, those who promote the opposite are enemies of the republic.
"Right... Your "beliefs" after all jive with their so-called "statistics" therefore it must be true."
Not at all.
Democrats get 90+ percent of the dead vote.
Democrats get 90+ percent of the animal vote.
Democrats get 90+ percent of the cartoon characters vote vote.
Democrats get 90+ percent of the leftist vote.
Democrats usually win in cities that get 105+ percent of people voting.
So why would Democrats getting 90+ percent of the felon vote be any different?
LOL! Ok ya got me there. Why didn't I think of that?
I don't think a low IQ implies poor judgement.
If you are for not reinstating a felons rights, would you allow them to opt out of paying for the burden of those collective decisions?
We don't allow the losers of an election to opt out. Why should we let felons?
Heck, why not make it mandatory for police officers to ask each arrest if they are registered to vote and if not, sign them up! Just a little more paperwork.
I could support that for non-violent felons.
It is not up to the Federal government to decide when someone convicted under a state's laws has paid his/her debt to society.
Presidential electors, according to the Constitution, are to be chosen in a manner proscribed by the state legislatures. If they do so through an election they must comply with equal protection principles. Felons are not being discriminated against on the basis of race, color, ethic origin, sex, or sexual orientation. They qualified by their behavior, not their makeup.
Judo time. Counting every vote also implies that a valid vote is not cancelled out by an illegal one. This initiative is the perfect springboard to eliminate vote fraud. Perhaps a valid federal id is required to vote in the Presidential election. Perhaps the IDs are cross checked to prevent someone from voting in more than one state or under the name of someone deceased. Then, purple ink.
I can't support anything hillary clinton proposes.
(Please FReepmail if you want on, or off, this list. I certainly have no desire to increase anyones stress-level. Thanks!!!)
They put in the motor voter crap...they empty the
cemetary every four years...they want all the felons
to join in....voting booths in all jails...and they
still lose....DEMS...YOU ARE LOSERS !!! You also
exacerbate the situation by embracing a screaming
meemie from Vermont....LOL...Jake
Thanks for the ping!
Soemeone who is convicted of a felony has shown contempt for the laws that govern our society. Why should he be allowed to particpate in that government?
"I don't think a low IQ implies poor judgement."
How about not allowing divorced persons to vote?
"We don't allow the losers of an election to opt out. Why should we let felons?"
That you can't seem to discern the difference between being able to participate and not being able to participate is very telling. Perhaps you shouldn't be allowed to vote.
My point is that many citizens are becoming "felons" for what used to not be a crime or what used to be misdemeanors. Felons are no longer restricted to murderers, rapists, etc. and many non-violent crimes are now classified as felons. If you happen to park in a school parking lot, you are committing a felony.
Many felons are conservatives, many have changed their lives after making a bad decision, many were sucked into the revenue generating criminal justice system.
Personally, I would prefer to institute a taxpayer only voting system. They are footing the bill, therefore they should decide the representation. Outside of that, with regards to Felons, that should remain as it is and be left to the states.
